We found this delightful sea food shack, The Lobster Pool, on the scenic ocean drive around Rockport, Massachusetts just before... you head into Gloucester, Massachusetts, 36 years ago. Today we found it again, the original shack unchanged. Talk aboutexcitement, we quickly pulled and parked for lunch. We had bowls of New England (white) clam chowder and 2 diet drinks in papercups from a dispenser. The chowder was delicious. 36 years ago we had lobster rolls (New England Style) on hot dog buns andmayo. We plan to lunch their again tomorrow on lobster rolls. They have a large tank of fresh live lobsters. Freshly dug liveclams clams, are trucked in from clam beds in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Their seafood is ALL fresh from the ocean and clam beds.Great seafood, well prepared, in a casual dining experience. Wow! Read more
What a great place to sit in the sunshine and eat lobster. We are from California where lobster can be as high as $44/lb so the... prices here are crazy low from our perspective. They served one of the most flavorful lobsters I've ever eaten. We can get liveMaine lobster in CA, but they don't feed them along the way so they've lost all their fat and flavor by the time we get them.I've never seen so much fat on a lobster before. Great Calamari, and the red sauce they pair it with is so well balance compared to others. Be aware that they do tend tosell out of some menu items.
