Had our company Christmas party here, food proportions were great, no one left hungry. The Salmon was delicious, the steak... could have been a little better, but not bad! Sides and desserts were excellent. Nice atmosphere. Read more

Wedding anniversary dinner. The majority of the stars are based on the food, because that is the most important aspect of any... restaurant. The food was excellent. We kicked off with an old fashioned and the special Witches Brew cocktail. Both were strongand we ordered multiple (highly recommend the witches brew). While I was a little disappointed in the appetizer options, I wasso glad we ordered the Bacon! The glaze was an excellent touch, my husband shamelessly scraped the plate. I also can't recommendthe scallop dish enough! Cooked perfectly- I mean perfect! This is my go-to dish at other upscale restaurants, so just trust meon this one. My husband had the prime ribeye, and it was also great. Another must have is the Lobster Mac and Cheese! Orderit!!! Worth every single penny! We wrapped up with creme brulee and a 3 layer chocolate cake. Both were good. Our waitress wasCassi and she was great! Pleasant and attentive. I'm calling her out specifically because we made a comment about something wereceived. And when she could have easily walked away, instead she addressed it and made sure that we were 100% satisfied. Notall servers do that! Now, the 'eh' part. We specifically were looking for something upscale for our anniversary. The prices onthis menu were not cheap. However, the atmosphere in the dining room was lacking. It needs a serious deep cleaning of thebooths- lots of dust. And the music choice for evening dining was a little honky-tonk for my liking. While there is beautifulstained glass and a beautiful bar, some of the other decor was more dated than I expected. But there are great photo ops outsideand in the foyer. Another miss was on the dessert plate. They knew it was our anniversary, and maybe I'm just spoiled but I'mused to the restaurant writing out "Happy Anniversary" on the plate. It's a small thing and not a big deal but something that Ithink has become standard at an upscale restaurant. And I keep mentioning 'upscale', I definitely f Read more

Okay. Hear me out. I want to say this very delicately, the food here is a solid 3 star. The staff and ambiance are off the... charts. I’m not a “restauranteer”, but if I was, I’d buy this place, fire the Chef, and bring in someone that canprepare a meal to compliment the business. They may have the most unique venue in Texas. Why skimp on the kitchen? I’mbothered by how much opportunity this place has. Respectfully. Out! Read more

I am late posting this. I did want to give feedback though. My husband and I went for dinner a few months ago. My food was good... (I ordered the pork chop). Hubby's dinner was so so (he ordered a variety plate with ribs and other items). It was not overlyexpensive for a night out, but we paid over $100 with a couple if drinks. The manager was very nice and offered us a tour of therestaurant when we walked in. They were not very busy (it was Sunday evening.) Our waiter was very melancholy and was not veryattentive at all. For that price, I would expect that the waitstaff act as if they are happy that you are there. I understand weall have our days...but it definitely put a damper on our experience. It had been a few years since we'd been to Culpeppers buthonestly, we could have gotten the same food and experience at another restaurant for much less in terms of price. On anothernote, as far as outside seating, it would be great if they had some kind of lighting on the tables as well as string lights tomake more relaxed and romantic atmosphere. Also, the choice of music didn't really seem to match a fine dining experience (inmy opinion). Read more

The steaks here are mouthwatering good. Very tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The ambiance is casual/comfortable.... The mounts of the various animals are beautiful and certainly fitting with the restaurants atmosphere. The hostesses at thefront as well as the manager were very welcoming and friendly. Our waiter, Mario, was a bit slow and felt that he didn't paytoo much attention to us after we told him we won't be ordering any alcoholic beverages. This is the reason for deducting onestar. The other reason for deducting another star is because our baked potatoes were very dry as they lacked butter... theywere only topped with cheese. We asked for butter but by the time we got such it was too late... and the butter was stillsomewhat frozen. The prices are a bit high in my opinion, but it has been a long while since I've been here. I wasdisappointed because the grilled quails were no longer on the menu, as they were the reason for my visit. Read more
