I visited El Chico early on a Saturday and it was my first time ever trying their food. We ended up ordering the meal for 2... which was about $24 and it included an appetizer, (2) choices for (2) entrees from the list, and a dessert. We really enjoyedthe food and the service was GREAT! I always had plenty of chips, salsa, and refills. The salsa was delicious and the food wastasty. The value for the amount of food was a great deal in my opinion. The one thing that takes this review from 5 stars to 4was the long wait for the check at the end of the meal. It took away from the experience to have to sit there and wait for ourserver to finally bring it, then wait more to pick it back up with payment. Read more
This is my favorite favorite Mexican food in Rockwall! The fajitas are always perfect and taste amazing! Feeding a family of 6... I?d say it?s really reasonable and has great food everyone loves!! The Chicken enchiladas are the best and o always goodforward to them! Read more
El Chico is always a good choice for decent Tex-Mex. Not too many of these restaurants left and this one has been here and been... solid for many years. The food and the service is always consistent and the whole family enjoys dining here. It would be nice tosee the fountain flowing again, but I?m sure it was a maintenance nightmare. Read more

Far better than the pictures do justice. Taco salad is a light favorite. Their salsa is some of the best I?ve had in the past... few years (if a bit spicier than expected). Only tried the brownie skillet dessert thus far - again, surpassed expectations inboth consistency, flavor, and portion. All in all, one of the better Tex-Mex places we?ve tried in the past 4 years. First of all, the service is EXCELLENT !! Very attentive staff, and genuine. Alexa took my order and was very helpful. I went... there tonight. I'm not from Dallas and was in town for business. I was staying at the Hilton in Rockwell and googled localrestaurants. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the host. Very friendly. The hostess that walked me to my table was veryfriendly. And chatty. I like that. I asked for her recommendation as I told her I had never been here before. She recommendedthe fajitas, which I ordered. The steak was moist and flavourful. The chicken was tasty, needed a little salt for my liking.The sides were perfect. The Charo beans were delicious. And the flour tortillas were the bomb. Yummy! As I walked in and saw the beautiful trees standing proudly inside the middle of restaurant, the creatively designed... decor and floor layout, I hoped I would be seated right in the middle of it all. My lucky day, I was. We were quickly greetedwith a request for a drink order, chips, and salsa. Our food order was taken just as quickly, and arrived sooner than expectedaccurately filled, hot, and delicious.
