I love coming here to finish out my work day or just to read my paper and watch a game! I've only ever set at the bar because... the bartender, Kris, is by far the greatest customer service experience I've ever had anywhere! She's very attentive, quick, andalways remembers her guest. The food is delish. I usually start with the Escargot. Very consistent. Buttery and very flavorful.I've had the lamb shank with mashed potatoes and veggies, the lasagna and one of the pastas and each one was delishious and fullof flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant! Read more

Quaint Italian restaurant in a good spot near the lake. Though it is not on the water it carries a coastal vibe throughout. ... The escargot was delicious. It's true, I love butter and garlic. The bread was also drenched in butter, as it should be. Thesalad was crisp and fresh. I had FUSSILI PUGNOCCHIUSO as my main. Sauteed noodles turns out are not my favorite. They are alittle harder than what I expected, but still tasted good. It was a texture thing for me. The servers were attentive withwater and drinks. I would go back if I'm in the area again. The food was amazing. Our waitress on the other hand very unattentive. We literally had to wait 30 minutes to order after we'd... been sitting there an hour and then when we needed more water it took her another 30 minutes. Read more

We always enjoy the specials at the Oar House but the crab claws are main stay. Crab butter and garlic - how can you go... wrong???? We had the flounder with crab meat and it was awesome. Read more

January 23rd we visited The Oar House in Rockwall, near the Harbor. Established about 20 years ago, The Oar House is simply... Rockwall! I give this place 5 stars and here’s why: the Oar house is quiet, romantic, cozy, rustic yet elegant, with authenticwood floors with brick and cobblestone accents. The décor and authentic feel of an old, expensive cruise ship is stronglyrepresented here. Think Titanic meets pirate ship. The crisp, white table cloths give The Oar House a formal nuance while therustic floors and ceilings balance out the ambiance with a more relaxed feel. The prices are on the high side but the food andservice are impeccable! For appetizers, we had the large, button mushrooms filled with veal and seasoned with a lovely balanceof rosemary and thyme in a creamy tomato sauce which was perfect for dipping our fresh garlic bread. We also shared the babyclams in a creamy sauce. I’m not much of a shellfish person, but the sauce on these was delicious! Each week, the chef at TheOar House, puts together a special menu that is ever changing so I ordered sole, garlic mashed potatoes and a perfectly cookedveg medley from among the few “Chef’s Choice” dishes. The fish was cooked to perfection! This came with a side salad whichwas fresh and delicious! Duane kept it simple with a bowl of lobster bisque and he described it as rich with multiple layers offlavor, the best he’s had, and a cross between lobster bisque and roasted pepper soup, which sang to him! This place is goingto be one of our favorites! We were invited to return for lunch, as the menu is slightly different. Dress was business casualand price was about $50 per person including drink and appetizer. Menu posted below. The Ore House Read more

Dec. 8 th 12-1pm Lunch , no crowd, Been waiting to try this place , Had a party of 4 . Sadly, I didn’t like my meal , it had... this weird flavor , I didn’t eat it . Waitress never asked why I didn’t eat my food . She also didn’t seem concerned,Everyone else liked there dishes . Ambiance was as expected , older place, been open here for a long time , you have to reservehere . It’s an older Italian restaurant, we sat in a circular booth . However , My guests enjoyed the food . Sometimes you arenot as good as you once were . I may give it another chance . Read more

Still one of best restaurants in Rockwall. An oldie, but great food & service, which is rare. Great selection of steak,... seafood, pork, soups, salads; great wine list, and always Chef Specials nightly. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Read more

Food was yummy! Big wine list. Small drink menu. You need a reservation to make sure you get a table. Waitress was very... friendly. We ended up dining in the patio where they have this pretty fountain. Very chill ambiance. Read more
