First time trying today and it?s flat out the best Jamaican food I?ve ever had in the area!! Portion size was was on point .. I... felt I got more bang for my buck! I chose oxtails, cabbage, rice and peas, macaroni and cheese (not pictured because I had eaten half of it), callaloo, and butter... rum cake. AMAZING!!! Definitely authentic Jamaican cuisine. I knew I was in the right place when I saw the 100 sanitation score.Can't wait to go back. Read more
Wow! For plant-based eaters, it can be difficult finding accommodatingly varied menus in Rocky Mount, but D Chill Spot has so... much to offer! I got the "Veggie Delite," which was absolutely incredible. ???? Each dish was so rich in flavor and provided theperfect balance of sweet (yum, plantains) and savory. Dined in yesterday first time. As a native New Yorker who knows authentic Jamaican food, the food is amazing! Haven't had a... patty this good in NC ever! This is currently my favorite Jamaican food that I have found in the area. I eat here at minimum once a week, 3 times if lucky.... Prices are okay recently oxtail plates have gone up 2 times in the fast few months. The oxtails are really good. My current goto is the large curry chicken plate $13 and great portion size. I wish there was a way to add extra rice or plantains withoutbuying a whole side of it. ( because only 1 comes on a small plate and 2 on a large) other than that I love this place theatmosphere is pretty great love the music playing, customer service is alway great. Read more
I'll put it to you like this; D Chill Spot understood the assignment!!! You will not leave with a disappointed palate! I... thoroughly enjoyed my oxtails, peas and rice, and cabbage, and that Ragamuffin, one of their signature drinks... magnifique! Sogood, made with a couple of different kinds of rums, and pineapple.
