We were celebrating a birthday and the guest of honor chose Bearden's as their restaurant of choice. They had been before but... the rest of our party had not. First impressions on driving into the parking lot was that it had a very 50's era diner feel. Onthe side of the building is a 1/4 half of a vintage car on the side. You place your order at the counter on walking in, sit,then they bring out your order to you. It was quite busy when we arrived as a large group arrived just prior to us so it took15 mins or so to get to the ordering counter. The ordering process was very straightforward and the menu is fairly focused so itmakes deciding pretty easy. It's burgers, some various fried side dishes, a hot dog, chicken sandwich, fish option, and a saladoption. The place knows their focus and the menu reflects it expertly. I always get weary of a restaurant offering pages of menuoptions. It usually means they don't excel at any one thing as there is no way a kitchen can be that flexible without cuttingcorners. Food was brought out very quickly and piping hot. Our group had a wide range of stuff ordered but some of thehighlights were: breaded mushrooms, fried pickles, slim Jim fries, the 1/4lb hot dog, various types of burgers, and the fish.Everyone was very satisfied with their food but the portion sizes were large and unexpected. This led to a lot of discussion inthe future of ordering one serving and sharing amongst the group. All in all, it would be a place we would visit again. It hada good atmosphere, excellent food, and the restaurant staff were working extremely hard. Food was great. Staff was friendly. Got a Big Bear burger, onion rings and a chocolate-peanut butter shake. My only gripe was... that the dining area needed cleaned, badly. 5 stars for the food. 3 stars for the cleanliness. Read more
In town visiting from Charlotte, NC. This was a staple. Had the Swiss burger and the Fries are some of the best in town. Sodas... and milkshakes are always good. Read more
The burgers are sloppy but so so very good! Love the diner feel and my son loves the milkshakes. Will be back!
google says this place is $ for price. that is not true because i got a cowboy burger a large shake that looks like a small in... actuality and breaded mushrooms that came out to $17.80!! premium prices for a western burger shake and fried mushrooms. insome parts of the country you can get all this for half the price!! anyways the burger was actually very good and service wasgiven with a smile which is rare nowadays so inspite of the prices being premium i still give this place 4 stars. they alsoanswered the phone at 10:58am to take my to-go order even though they open at 11am. Bearden's is a Rocky River staple that everybody has to go to at least once. I always make a point to try to swing by whenever... I'm in the area. This place has been around for over 70 years. They have done a great job of maintaining that nostalgic '50sdiner feel without it seeming dated or stale. The burgers always taste great. I'm a big fan of the Big Bear Burger but they dohave some other excellent options there. I really need to try their Peanut Butter Bear Burger on my next visit. What's reallynice is they're trying to keep the menu current without losing their core food items. They had a Tuscany Burger as their burgerof the month which really looked tempting. They also had a veggie burger option listed on the menu. I always make a point ofgetting their onion rings on the side when I order. They are insanely big. Read more
