There is no secret that one of my favorite places to eat is Portillos. There are other places to eat italian beef and sausage (a... combo) in Chicago and I know them all but Portillos is the best. Can't go wrong coming here, there is something for everyone! Amazing 50s atmosphere making you feel welcomed. Friendly staff and... a nice size menu. Definitely my favorite spot to stop at when passing through. Must try the combo sanwich and spicy chickensanwich. Onion rings are great and of course the Chicago dog! They sell the beef by the pound and the jar of peppers. Everyonewill be full and happy after a visit here! Read more
If you haven't been to Portillo's, give it a try. Everything on the menu is tasty.
The new plant based garden hotdog is legit! I will order it again. Chocolate cake shake never disappoints. Prices are... reasonable and it's a fun atmosphere. They may need more storage space because there were an awful lot of empty catering boxespiled up near front booths...not sure if that's on the regular but it takes away from the vibe they're going for. I have been to this particular Portillo?s numerous times and have never had any major issues. I read a lot of bad stuff in the... reviews but have never encountered them. Maybe I am just lucky? The food at Portillo?s is good, but there have always been somethings I take issue with, but it?s their food at every location and is not specific this one. For example, the neon green relishkinda freaks me out. It looks like something that came out of the same lab as the Hulk, but more radioactive looking. Their beefand cheddar croissant is awesome but if I don?t call out ?dry? when I order, it comes to me in a big mushy ball due to oversaturation of beef juice. Now don?t get me wrong. I still eat it, but just saying they can improve. The large shakes willdestroy you for a few days. They are like a billion ounces of shake and you?ll be in a food coma and unresponsive. But, ohhhhhhhdo I love them. That being said... it?s a standard Portillo?s which I really like and I have never had any issues here. Time togo get that large choc shake. Read more
