Well, I moved out of Rome about 6 years ago. So passing through I just loved the Shrimp Boat. So, I stopped by for lunch. Just... disappointed the last 3 times. Heart broken. I don?t know if they are under new management or what? They need to get ittogether. Sadly disappointed. Read more

We have been a big fan of Shrimp Boat for years. Food was always perfectly cook and very flavorful and hot. Oops! Not... anymore!! We just ate there a couple of days ago. We were so disappointed, the fish was cooked to death, fries been under heatlamp to long and the rest of the meal was just not good. I gave it a 2 star because of the tea it was good. The price went upand the food is not worth it anymore. I want the old Shrimp Boat back!!! Read more

This place is always busy so I thought it would be good I was wrong. Long wait but everything is cooked to order so... understandable. As for the food the chili is not worth the money for the small size, hush puppies were dryer than thesahara, fish was dull & bland very obvious it had no seasoning, the chicken also had no seaon other than salt, best thing aboutthe meal was size & the sweet tea, not the best tea but better than the food. I would not even recommend this place to Hinduslooking to take a break from fasting. Read more

Used to eat here as often as possible when we lived in Rome, now we make it a point to eat here whenever possible when we visit.... I got the scallop dinner in latest visit, delicious and a great deal with fries, slaw, and hush puppies for $9.99. Wife got fishand shrimp for the same price, the box was packed with more big pieces of delicious fried fish than she could eat. Make it apoint to eat here when you are in Rome! Read more

It is located a few miles from downtown Rome. Family-owned since 1958. The establishment holds a lot of history. Before we... arrived, there was a five-top (two parents and three young children). They spent about $50 on everything and seemed pleased. After we ordered our food, four more tables came in. They all seemed older than 50 years of age. My guess is they only came inbecause they remember the restaurant from their youth. I presume the younger generation won?t be attending since nicer placesare located several blocks down the street. Nothing seems to be made fresh-from-scratch; not even the desserts. If you?rehealth-conscious, I wouldn?t recommend visiting. No healthy alternatives. Not even a side of vegetables. Everything is friedexcept for the coleslaw and the Alaskan Pollock (if requested). But, I couldn?t eat the fish cause it was too chewy and tastedfrozen. I gave it to my dog instead, so I didn?t feel like I wasted my money. One of their popular items seems to be the ?FishBoat? which is fried fish, french fries, fried hush puppies, and coleslaw. A significant amount of food for what you?re paying, but too much grease for your arteries. Sadly, I won?t be returning cause I couldn?t find anything for my palate.
