If you are looking for an authentic Amish cooked food in Amish village, you should stop at this restaurant. The long queue... outside of the restaurant will tell you it?s popularity. Foods were very delicious. Our table included Beans Soup, Slow RoastedTurkey, Grill Chicken, Meat Loaf. Complimentary Peanut Butter with Bread on the table was a great addition. It was so tasty thatwe bought the butter for our home. Don?t forget to try their special of the day. We had blueberry pie and was awesome. Delicious authentic Amish food! They give you dinner rolls and homemade peanut butter to start (which was absolutely... phenomenal).The chicken pot pie was really flavorful and the chicken was tender. It was also made with pasta. The baconcheeseburger was cooked perfectly and the fries were homemade. You can also see into the kitchen which was really clean. We've been coming to Katie's Kitchen for years, and it's a dependable place to get a good meal in the area. The food seems to... be all homemade and just about everything that I've tried has been good. I'm a fan of their hamloaf, as not many restaurantsserve that. Service is usually good and the restaurant has always been clean. When my kids were little, they liked playing onthe swing sets that they have outside for sale. Now that my kids are bigger they still like the swing sets down there. This isa good place to grab dinner before seeing the show at the Sight and Sound theater, which is really close to here. This place was alright?we ordered the homemade butter noodles and open face turkey sandwich?.and the sandwich was, I kid you... not, canned chicken?it was so nasty I couldn?t even eat it. This was the last place that I thought they would use canned chickenbut anyways the rolls and peanut butter were really good. I?ve reviewed before but this place continues to impress!!! I visit Lancaster a few times a year and never miss stopping for... breakfast here (lunch/dinner are delish too but I?m all about breakfast) I always order an bacon & cheese omelette, the hubbyenjoys the meat lovers omelette ? the home fries are amazing as their French toast is too!!! And let?s not forget how delishtheir strawberry jelly is ? if you haven?t tried it you must !!! So here it goes based on my March 2022 trip ? This is Homemade Food by Amish. Place: Clean. Price: Fair. Food: it was very good for me. All the ingredients I tasted were... from very natural flavor, organic. Stopped for lunch before leaving the area. My wife has a Reuben sandwich and fries. I had a cheese steak wrap with sautéed... peppers, onions, and mushrooms and homemade steak sauce. I added the homemade potato chips for a side. Both, the Reuben and thecheesesteake wrap were absolutely delicious. That homemade steak sauce was great. The customer service was really good. Theirbeverages seemed just a bit overpriced to me. Especially since there is a charge for refills. I just made do with one glass. Read more
This was my first time trying authentic Amish dinner. The food was amazing and wholesome, the peanut butter that they give you... is magical and the service was amazing. The waitress even gave me a little blessing on the receipt in the back. I kept thereceipt as a souvenir and put it in a frame for extra blessings at home. This place is worth visiting for sure.
