"The Old Spaghetti Factory" aka 'OSF' has been one of those consistently decent and super affordable Italian restaurants. Not... over the top amazing but still a great family restaurant that offers comfort classics and a complete dinner with salad, bread,and dessert that won't burn a hole in your wallet. Located directly on Sunrise Ave. just north of Cirby Way in Roseville, thisremains the one and only OSF in Placer County. I came here for dinner during the evening of Saturday 11/20/2021 at around6:00pm. During the busy dinner hours and weekends, the parking situation can get very challenging. There is a parking lot thatextends towards the rear of the business but pay close attention as there are neighboring businesses open during the week thatmay ticket your vehicle. Fortunately I found a parking spot when someone was leaving. Once inside, there can also be quite a bitof a wait; however that too moves rapidly as their staff is fairly organized even during the busiest of times. Once seated,things actually moved fairly quickly. My party and I were given menus; at least OSF is still doing physical menus rather thanlooking on a phone. We all wanted iced waters and as for my drink of choice, I decided on a carafe of their "Chianti" Tuscany,Italy wine. As far my meal of choice, I settled with an OSF favorite of mine, the "Pot Pourri". This was their 3-pasta samplerthat included Mizithra cheese & browned butter, meat, and clam/marinara sauces. And of course every meal includes an appetizerthat includes warm fresh bread & butter and a house salad. The bread & butter arrives within 3 minutes. I was a bitdisappointed that the bread wasn't 'warm' which made spreading the cold butter a bit more difficult. The salad was good thoughas it was cold, crispy, and had enough dressing to make it taste good. Had dinner here tonight and boy were we seated fast! We walked right in to be seated, no wait time. Our server was fast,... friendly, and efficient! Our food also came out fast and in the perfect time as well for each course. I always hlget the brownbutter and mizithra cheese dish, so I got the garlic mizithra which has the addition of mushrooms and bacon, YUM! Husband hadthe crab ravioli, which was really tasty! I also had a cotton candy limeade that comes with a color changing straw. However, ifyou order an Italian cream soda, you get a complimentary glass that you get to keep, or trade for a clean one. Sunday evening is normally a little busy but we only need to wait about 30 minutes for a table for two. We were seated in the... train car and drinks were pretty quick. Orders were taken and salads were delivered within 5 minutes. The pesto ranch dressingis still a favorite even after 30 something years. My father and I finished up doing some shopping at the Roseville Galleria Mall and wanted to find something good to eat. I... suggested The Old Spaghetti Factory and was able to make reservations online. We had a great meal, with really friendlycustomer service. I wound up getting the pasta classics hearty meal with rich meat sauce, very flavorful an a huge portion thatI had to take some home for lunch the next day. You would think it would be a great place with great food especially for the prices of food but I was so mistaken! I haven’t... been here before but I am so displeased. How can a restaurant with “spaghetti” in its name serve the most terrible and blandtasting spaghetti. The pasta was served before the appetizer. They both were without cheese, we had to ask for the cheese, themeatballs were so dry. My friend said the sausage tasted store bought and they didnt even bother to cut it. The desserts wereserved with NO SPOON!! ???? I wish I was joking. But the price we paid was not worth it. We had to wait for someone for like 30mins to refill my water. They literally pass by and ignore us and only entertain the bigger crowds. The check was just given tous without any question beforehand if we wanted it split. It was a disaster!!!! The menu has changed since my last visit, some of my favorite items are no longer available,. I could be wrong but I seem to... remember chicken Marsala, and Eggplant parmesana.. not any more.... I ordered the Chicken parmesana and added a side meatball tomy spaghetti.. My Wife ordered Spaghetti Meatballs. It was pretty good. Read more
