As today is National Tequila Day, we celebrated one of our favorites by heading to Besito in Roslyn for their Sunday specials! 2... for 1 Margaritas from 12-3, plus a special tequila flight, yummy sides and churros… definitely sit at the bar area, greatservice by Oscar and the team, and a cozy atmosphere. My friend and I arrived and asked for a table outside. The maitre d' looked at us like it was a bizarre request and scanned all... the tables before seating us at clearly the only free table outside. Got the menus and was shocked by the prices at firstglance. We decided to order the fish tacos, fried plantain and chicken enchiladas. The fish tacos were nice and crispy and agood portion for a starter, the fried 'plantain' was really fried banana, so it was much more of a dessert than an appetizer.The enchiladas were a good portion, but they were a little on the salty side (and I usually add salt to my food) and the kitchenstaff had made a mess of plating them, and so the plate looked dirty. All in all the food and service were 3 stars. The pricesdropped it down to 2... in my book you really have to start at a much higher quality to charge those prices. Read more
Sorry I took the photo too late. The food was A1. I had the jumbo shrimp with boniato and my friend had the skirt steak. Not a... single complaint. Our waiter Miguel knew his stuff and his description of the food was perfect. We left no crumbs. Great servicefor a pop up visit on Mother’s Day no less. Read more
So I love that you get chips and guacamole with salsa before you order but the food was ok. The drinks was great, the shrimp... empanada I had was good but I was not crazy about my meal. I had shrimp with like a sweet plantain mash. I thought it was justtoo sweet and the tres leches was not a hit for me. Read more
Went to Besito for brunch during my birthday weekend. They were very accommodating when making the reservation. Originally, I... had about 15 people and they offered a private room with no additional cost or need to do a prix fixe. The restaurant isspacious. The day of the number reduced to 8 people and they had a large table for us in the general dining area. It was aSunday and they had a 2 for 1 margarita special. A friend and I ordered the mango margarita that we both didn't really like. Itdid not taste like a typical mango margarita. My cousins ordered a frozen margarita that they enjoyed. I switched to thewatermelon margarita after which I enjoyed. It was very refreshing. I liked that you were able to switch to a different one foryour second one and weren't obligated to order the same exact one. We started off with the guacamole to share. It was prettydisappointing for a Mexican restaurant. We all joked that it felt like the person making it got distracted and forgot to finishit. It was missing salt and lime, but we're easy going so we just asked for some and jazzed it up ourselves at the table. Thechips also came with salsa which was good. For our entrees, most of us ordered their iron skillets tacos. I got the mixtos whichhad Grilled skirt steak, chorizo, chicken, queso Chihuahua served with a nopales salad and corn tortillas. The tacos came withrice and beans for the table, but it was not a big portion considering how many people we had, but again we made it work. One ofmy cousins orderd the salmon salad with pistachio crusted salmon, mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, roasted corn, avocado, quesofresco, chipotle cream dressing. Great food and affordable prices. First time I went to this restaurant and I must say that the food was very tasty. You have to... try the special tacos and quesadilla. The avocado mixture and the chips were a great combo as well. The ambient is cozy, withnice music in the background that creates a relaxing atmosphere. The service was fast and very attentive. The restrooms needmore attention though, it would be nice if they'd put some hand paper tissues. Overall, I liked the food and the cocktails here,I'll come back again. Read more
I love this authentic Mexican in Port Washington. This restaurant is in a lovely neighborhood with a huge private parking lot,... it's super clean and staff couldn't be nicer. In addition to the spectacular dishes they offer, don't forget to indulge in theirvast selection of tequilas (legal age of course). I always favor their Carne Asada but trust me, everything is good.
