Probably worst breakfast experience i’ve ever had. Got there right when they opened Sunday 11am, took over an hour to get 2... waffles and 2 sides of eggs which they told us there was an issue with their waffle iron. No communication as to if we’d liketo order something else instead. When they did bring our food the eggs look like they had been made an hour ago and just sat outunder the warming lamp. When they did bring new eggs after we asked they were much better (picture attached for comparison) butthe waffles still left much to be desired. Read more
Outside seating is first come - first serve. We were lucky to be seated outside right away, which is so enjoyable. However it... comes with a time cap... 1.5h. Even though it seems like it's plenty of time for a party of 2 to finish dining, it feels tenseand waiter was trying to get full order at once. Oysters - marvelous! Sliders - juicy! Cacio e pepe spaghetti - homemadeyum! French martini ???? is must, but need to work on garnishing, that lemon chunk was a sad picture. Overal, great place to be! Read more
Gatsby’s is a total gem on LI’s North Shore. I’ve been several times and always love the food, and went last night with a... girlfriend and just had to write a review on how SUPERB the food and service were. An excellent dining experience, from friendlyfront desk staff to unique specials and delicious entrees. Our waitress was a sweetheart and very attentive too. We ordered abunch of the specials (see pics) which included a short ribs and scallops appetizer on a bed of cauliflower mash, the carrotginger soup which was phenomenal, the mushroom ricotta truffle ravioli (insane!) and the chilean sea bass. If you come here, youneed to order a pasta dish, all of the pasta is made from scratch including the ravioli and you can seriously taste thedifference. Overall phenomenal! The menu itself is great but the specials are always fantastic. Great for a girls night or datenight, and the decor is beautiful too. Highly recommend! Read more
This was a place my wify took me and boy was I surprised with the quality of food served and above all the service we received... was of a top 5* rated restaurant you would find in heart of NY which would charge you $250+ a plate. I would come again to thisplace for the delicious food and because the quality of service you get from the staff. Make sure you TIP them well because Ifeel it's right thing to do when you have staff that give you above and beyond type of service. Read more
Very quaint and distilled. By a lake. For the older crowd. Food is above average. Great staff named Brianna will take great care... of you. Get the crab cake. 8 out of 10 for sure ! My advice, more menu options and open the back of the restaurant with allglass. Read more
Would have given them more stars but the owner Glen was a bit rude initially and not very accomodating. My steak (medium) was... overcooked, the calamari was a chewy mess with a watery sauce. Our server Chris was super friendly and hospitable. Perhaps hecan teach his boss a thing or two about how to treat guests... Read more
Nice location with water view. But the food wasn't great when we were there. We had mussels, it doesn't taste fresh has a bit... stinky smell. Then the squid ink pasta also not as good, the pasta was overcook, make it very soft, and some of pasta are yellowinstead of black... Read more
Let me start off highlighting the positives of our entire experience. The service is extremely friendly, prompt, and always... catered to our requests! Danny took very good care of us and made sure we received everything we needed. Service is 5* without adoubt! The restaurant's aesthetics looks very comfortable and modern, giving us a very welcoming feel as soon as we sat down.There's also a section that faced the water which was very pretty and soothing. This aspect is also 5*! Now, the main reasonfor the 4* rating: the food we selected was a bit underwhelming unfortunately. The squid ink pasta was flavorlessly spicy. WhatI mean by that is imagine eating a spicy pasta dish where you do not taste any seasoning but a bland spicy sensation. Even afteradding salt, the dish was still not that great unfortunately. The Gatsby burger was mediocre in that the pork belly added asalty addition to the beef patty, but it didn't really compliment the burger unfortunately. The chicken parm was also quiteflavorless and the breading overly soggy, which is understandable since it is coated in sauce; however, the kids really liked itso it's at least kid-friendly (: One of our favorites was definitely the scallop appetizer, which was pretty good with a slightbitter char and delicious sauce; was definitely enjoyable! The creme brûlée was delicately smooth and delicious! Thetiramisu was extremely sweet so it'll definitely satisfy your sweet tooth! This restaurant deserves a higher grade for itsimpeccable and friendly service. Maybe our food selection was just not that great this time around, but I'm sure otherselections might be a lot better! We have high hopes for this place and we hope they will continue to improve!
