My fiancé and I ended up in here by chance. For a busy Fri night & the extra crowds/commotion that comes the weekend of dream... cruise; we were impressed by how quickly we were seated w/ drinks. Requested outdoor seating which was a relatively small areabut still felt private & intimate. We ordered the first thing we saw (easy choice, everything looked great.) Couldn?t havewaited 10 mins for our food which was served fresh, hot, and delicious. Zero mistakes. Our waitress was A+ we didn?t have to askfor refills or anything else, she was so on top of her service game that when I requested extra condiment she had alreadyslipped it onto the table w/o me even noticing???????????? Cost effective: one meal was more than enough to satisfy us both sowe shared. Add 2 adult beverages, the (weekend policy?) of applied gratuity, plus a 30% tip- in total cost less than $100.That?s a pretty cheap dinner date! Perfect for a casual night out, we?ll def be back. Honestly I have not been to a Bar Louie in more than 10 years. The stars aligned this nice Sunday afternoon as I was in Downtown... Royal Oak, so I said why not? My memories of Bar Louie were very positive so I ordered what I used to like. The glamorousHollywood decor has not changed a bit. That is neither good or bad. I started with their phenomenal Bloody Mary I so fondlyremembered. The good news is it?s still phenomenal. The Bad news? The accouterments you used to get on the extra long skewer inyour bloody Mary Are gone. Now down to an extra large olive.???? I also ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. This was one of myfavorites at bar Louie?s. The only grilled chicken on the menu now is a grilled chicken club sandwich on bread. I made a fewadjustments and it came on a bun and was quite delicious. We came in late on a Thursday night, really didn?t have many choices at this time but also didn?t think service would be so... bad!! Not only is 20% tip automatically included, the service was really undeserving of any gratuity. Our server told us tohurry up and pay the bill and go right after we had finished our food and still have more than half of the glass full of ouralcoholic drinks. There were a group is us all eating and drinking but no we were treated rudely knowing the server is already?rewarded? and has no reason to do a decent job?.Really not a great place to have been found even late at night. Don?t recommendcoming here unless service and money are somethings you disregard. This is shame on Detroit/Michigan/ Royal Oak area. I don't really frequent bars so this was stepped out on faith for me and it absolutely didn't disappoint. Security was present... and did check id's so that was cool. The music wasn't overbearing like in a few other places I have been to. Let's start on thedeliciousness of the food though. We both ordered burgers that were well seasoned and properly cooked medium. She had the burgerthat was shaved steak and I had the burger with aioli sauce and I think a pepper. The loaded fries were great too as well as thewings with the old bay dry rub. You can get the wings wet or dry, whichever you prefer. The drinks were slightly strong butthere was a good atmosphere and a few games on the TV so it was absolutely enjoyable. We haven't been when it was super busyjust moderately busy. Last but not least, our server was AMAZING. He didn't forget anything, stayed attentive but not overly inour space and as always when we obtain great service...... we tip great. If you're in the area drop by and they em out, it's agood look.
