Went here for a little date with a friend and I would absolutely go back. First off, our host that sat us had Down syndrome and... as someone with a sibling that has downs- I was so moved to see such a busy restaurant have the compassion to support andencourage this man to be able to work. Not all restaurants would do that, and I would go back because of that alone! He was sokind and wanted to make sure we got to sit exactly where we wanted, whatever made us happy! here's the thing, i entered this glorious establishment initially out of pure shelter from the bitter rain. with a couple buds... by my side, we crossed the threshold of City Tavern and were instantaneously greeted by Brina, who became our server afterletting us choose our own seating! after finding a comfy spot with the boys, Brina really came out of her shell with awonderful amount of energy that is fairly comparable to the human embodiment of a shot of Fireball. we ordered some chickenrolls and brews (as you can see from the attached photograph, i finished the beer). feel like my experience here today helpedturn the course of my evening of fellowship with the brotherhood into one of the better experiences that could potentially be.thanks Brina for being yourself ???????? I had so much fun here at their Salsa Night yesterday! The vibe was amazing, drinks where amazing, staff was nice and friendly... and the food was much better than I expected. The prices are very reasonable and their cocktails are a nice size (not in smallerglasses like other places). I couldn?t decide what to order, so I went ahead of ordered a bit of everything. Update: Came back to give them another chance. Absolutely loved the chicken tortilla soup. The wait for everything.....was... horrendous. Was there for at least 2 hours. Not worth the wait. Came during the Halloween bar crawl, so super busy. Got thepretzel before any of the drinks. Good drinks and very good pretzel! My waitress (Hailey I think?) was very nice. Read more
I would give zero stars if I could. Saturday evening my group had the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant in my life.... French fry orders were swapped, incorrect salad dressing, not enough silverware, forgetting two of the guests orders, only tobring one the wrong order super late which she couldn?t actually eat. She got her correct order togo however the fries wereincorrect and she couldn?t eat them. So we gave up. The restaurant wasn?t busy at the time we went ? I can forgive a fewblunders but countless mistakes from the kitchen and waitstaff is unacceptable. It was obvious the server was new and I can belenient but if the manager knew she was struggling there should have been more coaching or a hands on approach. I?ve spent 6years in a kitchen, and I?ve supervised staff. I understand what can be going on but we were all to embarrassed to complain sowe left and won?t be coming back.
