Staff were as salty as the food. Party of 6. We ordered the chicken, lamb shanks (2), ox tails (2), and shrimp in butter sauce... for the mains. Empanadas (chicken & beef), fried shrimp for appetizers. Sauce for both the ox tails and lamb tasted thesame...both over-salted. 3 stars for the appetizers and sides. Restaurant clean, average crowd. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. However, the service was HORRIBLE. Our server, Miguel, acted as if he did not want... to serve our party. He was extremely unprofessional. He disappeared for long periods of time, never bothered to refill ourdrinks, rolled his eyes when we asked for anything, spoke to us rudely, got our checks and orders mixed up, then added an 18%gratuity to each of our receipts. Food was delicious, 5 stars, staff was nice, and the restaurant was clean. But if you have a LARGE group, be prepared to wait. I... was with a group of 50 people, and we were told they could accommodate all of us. It took 25 just to get out drinks (water,sodas and beers). And then another 20 minutes to order food. Then forever to get our food. The kids food was brought out at thesame time as the adults, so they were starving. This is one of my fav spots in Royal Palm Beach area. I’ve tried several of their dinner dishes, but last night I just stopped... for drinkie drinks ????and light bite. Normally never like margaritas, but I decided to their Mango Margarita. Mari, thebartender, killed it! Absolutely loved it & drank both which is super rare! All that was missing was being in a hammock on thebeach. ???? Plus, they were 2 for 1, which is awesome now a days with prices as high as they are. My date tried the MangoCaipirinha. If you love frozen drinks, it’s delicious, but I prefer drinks on the rocks????. The hostess, who bartends attimes photo bombed as I was taking pics. She’s sweet & funny. As always they give great service. The beef empanadas are sogood that I eat both with taking a picture! ??????????????? Absolutely recommend!! So you definitely know a place is great when you crave their food… and wait for it … it’s the same food you’d cook if... you were home! So why this particular Don Ramon’s? I’m so glad you asked ????. The service is extremely, extremely thorough.I mean to the last minute the servers are working together to make your experience perfect. The food is always fresh anddelicious. I especially love the chicken chunks! They are so flavorful and juicy. Not too crunchy but crunchy enough. The riceis always superb and the beans. Well let me tell you how I score beans, if you can have them alone, no rice, no meats and theflavor keeps you eating them as if they were the entree then you know they are good! Needless to say these were great. And no, Ididn’t finish them. But it’s because I was stuffed and I didn’t want to ruin my experience. I want to always crave more.The mojito was perfect not too strong or minty. Just right and the Cuban coffee was just what I needed after a long day. So ifyou’re looking for a place where you can have your mom’s food, with excellent service and a wonderful ambiance (music andall) then this is definitely worth the trip. My only problem was that my waiter was always busy with other customers that I had to time when he was coming close... to my table to get his attention for further assistance with adding to my order.
