Found this place because our normal bathroom stop wasn't available. This is in the Mobil gas station store. Food smelled good so... we got a sandwich, the pappy as it's called. Breakfast food, very big, and very good. My wife and I shared one. They also dobarbecue that I have to imagine is good as well if the breakfast food is anything to judge by. Never would have found this ifthe other gas station near by had their bathroom open. Now that we know it's there, this will be our stop from now on when weare in Rutland. Read more

I always get there breakfast sandwiches at another gas station. They are delicious. I decided to stop in at the main location to... get lunch. I got two large 12 Inch sandwiches. What I got was two 8 inch sandwiches for $24. So disappointing. Read more

The folks seem nice, and the owner is from Hondo, Texas, so I thought this might be good. At $40+ per pound (much pricier than... good barbecue in Texas), it should have been spectacular. Sadly, it wasn't. Ribs were tough, brisket had huge chunks of fatwhich were not well rendered. I'm from Central Texas, and this place would die a quick death if they had to compete with eventhe worst barbecue in Austin. The baked beans were pleasant, but not special. The pulled pork was pretty good. The spicy saucewas too vinegary. I think I'll wait for my next trip to Austin to get barbecue. Ok I?ve tried 3 times with 3 different menu items and the food is just not good. Twice just so so greasy with no discernible... flavor and this last time? holy salt! And nothing else. Shame, I really want a good version of this food in the area but it?sjust not here. Read more
