I walked into the restaurant this past Saturday at about 8:40pm. It was a very busy night as Rutland had its Halloween parade.... I was greeted by a hostess named Sara who told me they restaurant is very busy and they are no longer taking tables. Iexplained I didn't need a table and simply wanted to order dessert to go. I was with my autistic son - and the dessert was forhim. Sara then told me the restaurant had sold out of food completely and there wasn't any dessert left. As I asked a fewquestions in disbelief, a waitress named Lexi interjected herself into the conversation stating she too is very sorry howeverthey wouldn't be able to seat any more tables. I again explained I didn't need to be seated, I only wanted to order dessert, togo, for my son. Lexi, looked me straight in the eye and said, we have nothing left. No food of any kind. The restaurant was sobusy they sold out of every single dessert on the menu. At this point, I walked past the hostess stand and told them I was goingto the bar to have a drink. I walked up to the very crowded bar and was greeted by a kind bartender who put a napkin down, handed me a dinner menu, and asked will you guys be eating? WHAT? There's food available? It's still possible to order? Samemenu as the dining room? Why yes it was. I ordered a sandwich and 6 desserts to go! I'm not sure if the waitress just didn'twant to get stuck with a late table or what the issue was, but I definitely don't appreciate being blatantly lied too. I haveworked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, closing at 9pm on a Saturday night is early no matter where you aregeographically located, but, just because a restaurant closes at 9pm, doesn't mean a server is done or gets to leave at thattime and it was 8:40pm not 9 when I arrived. These two young ladies were rude and insensitive. It was clear my son was agitated, and a little kindness and good customer service would have gone a long way. Something as simple as letting m Read more

Fantastic fire roasted prime rib. The sides were a bit disappointing, a bit too salty for our taste. But the side salad was very... good. Read more

Sub par. Didn’t ask to specify what thing we wanted brought out the wrong thing and then when we mentioned it was like do you... want the other, but didn’t correct the rate on the bill. 2 prime rib egg rolls cut in half for 12 dollars. Save your money gosomewhere else Read more

The restaurant is quite adorable (wish their A/C was on). I had a delicious oven crisped corn bread with maple butter, really... stellar! For my meal I went with the roasted chicken and garlic mashed. Although the chicken did not come out at a good tempfor me, my waitress fixed the issue and it was a very tasty meal ????. I guess they are known for their rotisserie chickenroasted over a wood fire. Usually with food temp issues you would never see me back, in this case the flavors will draw me backagain!! Read more

I do not write one star reviews often - and certainly not for local restaurants. After a delicious meal last night at The... Roots, we wanted to try another Rutland, Vermont staple. After a long day of skiing, we had booked a reservation at Table 24for 7:30 pm. We showed up a little early and were taken directly to our table. The empty appetizer plate had been eaten off of -but staffing has been challenging and mistakes happen. We quickly moved on to ordering drinks and an appetizer. Our drinks camequickly and the Bourbon Apple is actually quite good. The positives end there. I ordered a $38 filet mignon and asked for it tobe cooked medium rare. My boyfriend ordered the prime rib and requested one of their larger cuts. My meal arrived and I cut intothe filet and it was raw inside and my boyfriend’s prime rib was over cooked. I politely asked the waitress to take mine backto the kitchen to get it a little more medium rare which she quickly obliged. My steak arrived raw a second time and I felt thatit was important to bring it to a manager. The manager comped the meal and the appetizer. Needless to say we stopped at thegrocery store on the way home. So disappointing after looking forward to a nice hot meal all day. Read more

Absolutely love this place! Went there for the first time with my friends. The waiters were extremely friendly. Food was... perfectly cooked. I started with the Arugula salad with goat cheese, dried apricots and white champagne dressing. For the maincourse, I had wooden fried salmon with asparagus. It was delicious! My friends had mac and cheese and a salad. Finally, we hadtheir Chocolate chip cookie sundae. Needless to say, it was amazing.. If you sit in the front deck, you should. It's very neat!will definitely be visiting again :) -Satisfied customer. Read more

You must go here if you are in Rutland, no questions asked. Everyone was perfect, no complaints. Our server was awesome and had... a pretty sweet accent too. The food was delicious, and the prices were amazing for the quality of our experience. There isplenty on the menu for anyone to choose from, I will definitely be coming back to Table 24, when I'm in town again. Read more

I loved the decorations of the place, I think that is what makes this place unique. The menu has a great selection of beer and... wine. The food is incredible too. I recommend the maple pork tenderloin. For dessert the sorbet they have is a great option. Read more
