This little lodge is located in the San Isabel national forest. It's open for breakfast and lunch Thursday through Sunday. It... was exciting when we realized that some of the staff used to work at the old Max's diner in Colorado City. The service wasfantastic, The burgers and steak sandwich were not the best Ive ever had but the food was hot and our orders were 100%correct. We already have plans to come back for breakfast. It looks like they are planning on having a bar but there was nothingcomplete when we were there. Read more

I had Lodge Chicken Bowl - mashed potatoes topped with corn, chicken poppers, cheese and gravy -- different and tasty! Loved... compostable take out box instead of styrofoam. Only improvement would be to have a few vegetarian options other than ordinarygrilled cheese. I will eat meat but prefer not to. Glad they are going to be open year round. Read more
