The Black Bear Diner was a great place to eat. I went there twice during my stay in Sacramento. I had the chicken fried steak... Benedict which was delicious. The second time I had the Grizz, it was so much food but very scrumptious. The staff were great mycoffee cup was never empty. The decor was very much what you would expect from a place named the Black Bear Diner. I thought thecommercials they had on loop on the TV when you walked in were great. If I am ever back in Sacramento for work this will be mypreferred breakfast place. Read more

Ate here 10/22 with my family. We love Black bear restaurants because of the wide variety of the menu, the good service, and... consistently good food! My family was well looked after, even at 8:45pm! We will definitely be back! Read more

Great tasting food, the staff was friendly but a little uncaring, this restaurant did seem a little out of order from the... previous time I had dinner there, the utensils weren?t placed on the table and I had to walk around and ask for them, I didnotice most of the staff was wondering around or outside on break which left us waiting a little more than usual for an emptyrestaurant, other then that it was good. The service by Brandon was absolutely awesome! The manager was just as amazing yesterday. They both have a very pleasant... attitude and seem to really enjoy their jobs. The food was absolutely delicious! Brandon got them to make me an omelet thatisn't necessarily on the menu as an omelet, but it is as a 10 oz New York strip steak and eggs. I am on a restricted diet so Ican't have cheese, but they added onions and mushrooms into it for me, I also can't have potatoes so they got me 2 bowls ofstrawberries for an additional price. Overall it was absolutely delicious and the best service I have had at ANY Black BearDiner Read more

This location has always been consistently fantastic. It can get a bit busy so early breakfast is usually our thing when going... to this location. The sweet cream pancakes are really unique and I?ve not had anything like them. Very delicious. Theproportions at black bear are borderline absurd - huge! My wife and I usually share one item and we still have left overs. Itis a little pricey but you get your moneys worth. The coffee is on point and always refilled quickly. Definitely coffee goblinapproved. Service is good and the restaurant is always clean and well presented. Read more

Food was good and large portions as always. The wait sucked 30 just to get seated then our server was slow. From when we sat... down ordered ate and waited to get our check another hour and a half. He was nice but we had to remind him about utensils andnapkins. I?ll go back since we all enjoyed our food. Hopper they hire more people and train there staff a bit more. Read more

Black Bear Diner did it again. While not located in the best of areas, the quality of food and service was outstanding. This... location is kind of hidden back behind some hotel right by the 49er truck stop on I80. The interior of the restaurant wasclassic Black Bear. The waitress was very kind and made sure I was taken care of. Definitely one of the best waitresses I haveencountered for awhile. As a trucker who eats everywhere all across the country, you come to find out good service is prettyhard to find but when you do find it, it is a special thing and Black Bear did not disappoint. I ordered the Tri Tip Steak withmashed potatoes and gravy as well as green beans. The meat was cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of seasoning.Overall the meal was great and it definitely hit the spot after a long day of driving. I ordered a chocolate cream pie and acoconut cream pie to go. I believe they are 6 or 7 dollars a piece but very well worth it. Don?t leave pie-less. This is thefourth or fifth Black Bear location I have been to and all have maintained a similar level of quality that has led to myobsession with this diner! There isn?t much I like about California, but Black Bear Diner is one of the best things to originatefrom this state and I look forward to visiting again. Read more
