We stopped in at Maria?s tonight for pastries and the staff ignored us for approximately 10 minutes. We asked for help for... several times and they said they?d be right with us, we were the only ones in the store.The staff were not helpful, I would saythey seemed bothered that we were there and asking questions about some of the pasteries. Maybe if the pastries were labeled wewould not have asked so many questions. When we asked to buy products that were in the case they told us that we couldn?t buythem because they were reserved for another order. Who has products for sale in the case; but you cannot buy them. Absolutelyridiculous!! We bought one chocolate mousse small tart and it wasn?t fresh. It was dry and tasted stale. We looked at otherpastries including the cheesecake slices and the chocolate mousse cake all did not look fresh. I always like supporting localbusinesses because I know what it?s like and this business doesn?t support its customers. The best assortment of pastries and specialty cakes I have found in South Bergen area. The store is nicely lit and the displays... are clean and beautiful. Big display of Italian products in the center of the store. Employees are friendly and helpful. Read more

Maria?s is always a wonderful treat. My dad and I walked in to order a cake for my grandfather?s birthday. Illiana was very... helpful. She helped us choose the filling after we described to her the last filling we used. Lemon preserves. So delicious! Shehelped us decide the wording for the cake. She was so welcoming and cheery, as was the rest of the amazing staff. My dad and Ialso ordered 2 cannolis, which were very scrumptious and not overly sweet. They also had a beautiful presentation. We?re lookingforward to picking up the cake next week! I hadn?t been to Maria?s in a long time since I moved out of state, but it is one ofmy favorite places in North Jersey. Read more
Bought this cake on Mar 11th for my daughter's birthday. Could use only for photos. Cake was super dry and tasted stale.... Definitely not a fresh cake. It was an very embarrassing moment in front of guests. Had to apologize and throw it away. Read more
Love this place. Everything is delicious and the place is very clean. Fresh coffee available, too if you want to sit and eat... something here. Staff is friendly. It can get crowded .. so go at an off time and it will be empty! Read more
