This might be my favorite place to stop when I'm in the area, for a quick and delicious bagel for breakfast. The two young... ladies, who have been my regular wait staff, almost have my regular order memorized. Pretty good for a once a "week" customer.Try Big Apple, rather than Timmy's up the street. Foods great, customer service not so much. Pretty certain its the two lazy employees(probably managers) sitting on the meat... slice tables in the back. They were demanding the employees to do things in a way that made not a single person look happy tobe there. Thought it was just me but the old gentleman the followed me got treated with the same ?get out of here? attitude. Imsorry for the business owners since they probably dont know how the work environment is causing this. But as always, food wasgood. Read more
For starters the hours dont match online. I got there thinking I had 1 hour until close (3p) when I really had 7 mins and 4 diff... type of bagels to pick from (I wasnt the only customer either and as I sit here writing this 2 different people walked up to thedoor that the boy locked 3 mins early - they were VERY worried about closing and were very unpleasant, unlike the friendlymorning staff) the girl who took my order and cut my bagel without gloves was then doing my cash transaction while my bagel wascooking and said ?oh hold on, my fingers bleeding? ???? as she had to carefully drop my money in my hand ?without? getting blood on it?! She THEN put gloves on and I was so freaking disgusted in the hygiene process I saw displayed (OR LACK OF) that Iasked if she got blood on the bagel she was about to give me and she said no, I cut my hand yesterday and it opened up? I askedfor a new bagel and said I?d rather be safe that is gross.. She said nothing. I thanked her when I left (never once unkind justwanted a blood free bagel?!) and she said nothing. Was super impressed with the two ladies working this morning. I had placed a huge takeout order for a work event and they had... everything ready early and included everything that I would need. They even were dealing with a coffee-maker issue and stillmade sure to get me out the door in a timely manner. Couldn't recommend the State St. team highly enough. Read more
I was very impressed with the staff that waited on me on a Tuesday morning! The two women worked together as a team very well... and multi tasked to be efficient and service customers as fast as possible. They were quick to great customers even as theywere still preparing someone else's order. I ordered 2 dozen bagels to take to a staff meeting - and forgot to ask them to cutthem - but when I realized it they took them back and did it without complaint or attitude - even though other customers werecontinuing to come in - so refreshing!
