There are a few places that I love mainly for the comfort they provide. The Red Herring Pub is such a place. We've been going... here for years whenever we're in town to have a pint or to enjoy some of the best fish and chips you'll have in the region. They have a solid menu all around but there's nothing like having some of their generous and delishious fish and chips, preferably on the deck overlooking the pier and water if weather permits. You can make the fries poutine if you'd like too!Enjoy!! Read more

My dad and I visited the pub due to several people in town suggesting it. It was soooo good! The service and ambiance is... excellent. We sat on the patio and our waitress was so attentive and the food came quickly. The cocktail and beer menu issmaller but thoughtfully chosen. I suggest the cranberry Moscow Mule! We shared the fish and chips and the clams. The Frenchfries are home made and absolutely amazing. Be prepared they serve you a lot!! Read more

Nothing fancy but very welcoming and comfortable with locals adding to the homey atmosphere. We had local beer on tap, locally... made fish cakes ( excellent) and fish and chips. Prompt and thoughtful service and great food. Nobody rushing us out. Would defrecommend. Read more

Most enjoyable dinner we've had in 10 days travelling the east coast. Great service, loved the recommended beverages. Good food... at a good price. The Arcadian salad was lovely. Lucky enough to get a patio spot with live music and it was a great evening. Read more

We had spicy chicken salad and bufflo chicken burger. The fries were amazing. Only gave 4 stars since it was $4.25 to switch... fries to a salad as a side.... Read more

Food was good with large portions and enjoyed the sangrias. Was slightly off putted that we weren?t allowed to sit at an open... table on the patio (we were put at a different table on the patio but there were people sitting by us and we couldn?t look atthe nice view). We wanted to enjoy the evening view of the water and pier as we had just arrived in Saint Andrews and wanted torelax on our next honeymoon adventure. We were told the larger tables needed to stay open for groups of 4, but it was aWednesday evening and no one sat at the table while we were there. We ended up inside because other guests on the patio werequite loud and we couldn?t hear each other so it was no big deal anyway. Read more

Cozy spot. Drink menu is good with flights available. Food is tasty. My son loves the chicken fingers poutine and begged us to... go back for it. They were short staffed and it showed at times, but staff were friendly and service was pretty good consideringthe situation. Would definitely return. Read more

Nice place on Water St. with a decent selection of beer and innovative cocktails like a delicious new blueberry sangria.... Although sangrías are made of red wine, not vodka. The place is pet friendly which I think is great. I asked what the specialtywas and I was told I could get a ham sandwich with minestrone soup if I wanted a special. Overall, food was OK and service wasOK. Read more
