Went on a Saturday around 5:30pm and they found us a seat without a reservation. It was getting very busy. Staff is very nice... and accommodating. My husband and I had steaks. I've had better considering it's a steak house, especially with the price. Thesides were good. The salads weren't fresh but okay. Their dinner rolls are awesome! Food was wonderful, and service was amazing. Crab cakes were amazing and fresh, steak was perfectly cooked. Mashed potatoes and... white gravy tasted like they were truly made from scratch, and the Cole slaw was the best that I've had by far. Will go hereagain when picking up loads from the meat plant. Service: 5 stars Ceanliness: 5 stars Atmosphere: 5 stars Salad: 5 stars Sides: 5 stars Ribeye: 3.75 stars. I eat a LOT of... steaks and I eat at steakhouses all over the country. So, I would say most would rate it higher, but St. Joe is in the heart ofcattle/beef country. So Im a little harsh when it comes to this part of the country. It was a good cut of meat. This place was recommended to us by some friends. There's a reason we are no longer friends. The waitress brought me my main... dish and I moved my bowl of soup to make room and she took my soup and piled trash on it without asking if I was done. Myhusband ordered a medium steak and it arrived rare. The waitress left without us getting a chance to say something. The greenbeans were mediocre and the fried pickles were burnt. We were told that the Hoof& Horn Steak House food was not good. Glad I didn't listen. Our waitress was Katie. She made sure that... if I was taken care of. The food is excellent and hot. The rolls were good. I had a steak fajita and it was huge. Not spicy. Thecook is Mexican and makes everything from scratch. Highly recommend it. Even when a train went by. I was raised around the traintracks and it bought back fond memories. Definitely worth going to. Price is reasonable. Read more
