I would have never thought to get recommendations to eat at a legion, but we gave it try and it was great! Food was good and... service was quick! Great friendly local atmosphere and it was packed! We tried to go the first night we were in town (ATuesday) and we needed to wait. I didn?t have time to sit around because of some other appointments, so we came back the nextday. Just as busy, if not busier then the night before but we waited. No wait if you want to sit at the bar, as long asthere?s an open seat. The servers were very helpful and friendly. When asked for a recommendation, she hi-lighted the commonfavorites, deep fried chicken and listed a group of other options. Both of us were not disappointed and were surprised and howreasonable everything was priced. Definitely worth a try and Will go back again to try some other options on the menu! Read more

LOVE Hobos! They have THE BEST fried fish. The menu says fried fish, it doesn't say catfish. It is a white fish, and Hobo's is... my most favorite place to go for fish. They also have excellent fried chicken. They have a large menu, lots to choose from, andtheir side dishes are GOOD. They are so busy all the time, the waitresses are hopping like crazy. If you go during the day (Ithink they're closed on Mondays,) try to go by 4pm if possible. The lines can get long. They also have To Go orders. They have afew tables outside. They have a bar. Excellent food, employees are super friendly, prices are reasonable. It's a hoppin' place! Read more

I have been eating at Hobos for years. I have very rarely been unsatisfied. Do not expect perfection every single time, this is... not a Michelin rated restaurant. But it hits the nail on the head much, much more often than not. Of course you should expect towait to be seated. All of the GOOD restaurants have a long waiting time. I showed up with 13 people in my party just before 5 pmthis Wednesday and we were seated within an hour. Our waitress, Mercy, was everything you could want. She was happy, smiling andengaging. She put in our orders with zero mistakes. I checked with everyone in the party and no one had any issue with theservice or the food. So, at the end of it all, it was a VERY happy birthday for me. I love my family, friends and eating atHOBOS. Read more

There's never-ending gold available at Hobo's. I've been here half a dozen times in the last several years and my family and I... are never disappointed. The food is always hot. The options are robust and filling and the atmosphere is always electric. thesmoked chicken sandwich was the perfect, tasty part of today's lunch. My daughter had the tasty Fried Chicken Wrap. A couple ofnotes when heading to Hobos: Depending on the time of day, you're likely in for a wait and - like many other restaurants - theycharge far too much for a fountain drink. Beyond that, you're GUARANTEED great food on your next stop, along with being able totake in a great piece of St. Charles' nostalgia. Great work, Hobo's as usual! Read more

Highly recommend the onion rings. Seriously the best o-rings I've had. Burgers are great. Pizzas great. Wife loves the half... cluck fried chicken. Great place. Pizza pictured is their supreme/deluxe with added mozzarella cheese. Pizza is St Louis style, reminds me a bit of Farachi's but with its own different style. Large rectangular pizza with thick layer of toppings. Onepizza will feed your family. Read more

My wife and I met for lunch here and it was both of our first time here. We entered from the front and stood there awhile... until we saw a line across the restaurant formed in the back. Got in line and after a few minutes a few people walked past usto put their name in (which we thought that was what the line was for considering it started at the podium). Well after theygot their name in, I realized and put my name in and only lost a few spots in front of us. Due to the crowd, we ended upsharing a table. Our waitress was very friendly and after finding out it was our first visit, helped us pick our order. Thefried chicken and fried catfish were delicious. For sides, we tried the twice baked potato casserole, mac&cheese, greenbeans & slaw. Everything was good except the green beans, which were flavorless. If we are in the area, we'll definitelytry it again. Read more

Ran across this little place in my travels and decided to give it a whirl. First off, GREAT sweet tea, very flavorful. I had... the smoked meatloaf which had a great smokey flavor. Mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. The green beans were flavoredwith meat in them and seasoned well to the taste. The potatoes were good and hearty. My tea glass never ran dry and I neededfor nothing as my server Nancy was extremely friendly and made sure I was accommodated on everything. This is a great mom andpop place, it has been here a long time. If your in the area, drop in as you will NOT be disappointed. 2 thumbs up from me. Read more
