As you can see from the reviews below, the last thing this place needs is another 5 star review, but they absolutely DESERVE... another 5 star review. We stopped here on the way from Mesa Verde to Denver because there wasn?t a whole lot of other options aswe approached dinner time. This may have been the best decision I?ve ever made. The folks behind the counter were incrediblykind and welcoming. Inside this humble and unassuming building is one awesome brick oven with real wood heating what I can onlydescribe as some of the best pizza I have ever eaten. They have a heartier crust than most wood-fired pizza joints I?ve had, butsomehow has a crispy bottom, which makes it sturdy enough for each generously loaded slice, yet still provides a soft and airybite. Best pizza I have ever had and I have had many. Red Truck has a limited menu now but hope to expand it soon. Really good... prices. They have limited hours now and are closed Monday and Tuesday, Currently they are only open 4pm to 7pm. 5 miles west ofSalida on Hwy 50. Worth the drive from Salida. Read more
Generally I don?t post anything anywhere, just like to stay unnoticed, but this pizza got my 66 year old butt excited about... pizza again, my family and I now have this pizza 2 to 3 times a month. The only problem we have ever had is which product toorder because we all have different favorites ! Good news is we like them all, just some more than others ! You?re super luckyif you?re visiting or driving through, but without a doubt grateful if you live in the area, this pizza reminds me of some ofthe small pizza joints in New York or Jersey, it?s that good !!!
