Ordered 5 items across the menu to get a good feel for Chuar. Was very let down across the board. Fried pork wontons were the... best item we ordered and that was more due to the sauce tasting good than the actual wontons. Sesame cold noodles I had to use aknife to taste because the noodles were one big blob that would not come apart. The noodles had no peanut or lime flavor andwere more salty than anything. Beef stew rice noodles had three tiny pieces of beef with one chunk of bok choy. Plenty ofcorrectly cooked noodles with zero flavor. Beef with mixed vegetables and mushrooms was ok. It was mostly onions and peppersthat were raw with no signs of being cooked. If the onions and peppers had at least a slight sear this dish would have been goodbut big chunks of raw white onion is not my thing. Last was the pork belly chuar and what I wanted to try the most since I am abig fan of pork belly. Basically it was fried pork belly and some green onions. I expected something better or at least withtheir own twist on pork belly. The food here is not cheap and I really expecting a lot more. Read more

I am new to the area, from outside of Philadelphia PA where interesting dining is abundant. I didn?t think I could find decent... Chinese food here until now. Chuar is the real deal, very authentic and delish. I got the twice cooked pork and it was so fullof flavor not like any other dish I?ve had. My friend got shredded beef with green hot peppers and the beef was so tender andjust the right amount of heat. The pan fried dumplings were very tender and light. We will be back. Read more

First had Chuar at the beginning of the pandemic for take out. We kept saying we would go back and sit down and try new things.... We finally did and it was amazing. Great service, she was patient with us asking questions and would recommend items for us ifone was not available. Wish there was some seasonings on the table but I get it with covid and what not. We had leftovers andordered some stuff to take home. All the food we got was amazing, even their American Chinese item we got to take home. Mostexpensive thing we got was the duck that was about 18$ but it was worth it! If you are thinking about trying them, just go doit. Read more

Yes! I've been waiting forever for an authentic Chinese restaurant. I went in at evening so it was naturally slow, but the food... came out quickly and was delicious, as well as enough for two sizeable helpings. Highly recommend as an alternative to sugaryAmerican Chinese, though they do also have a selection of those dishes available as well. Update: went back twice now in ashort time and both times were just as good. The duck in beer sauce is chopped up bone-in meat with plenty of flavor and fat,and the ants climbing a hill (ground pork in spicy bean noodles) was hot and satisfying, like a spicy drunken noodles. Isincerely want to try every single dish here, if I had the money and weren't afraid of getting fat I'd eat here every day. Amust-try place if you like food that tastes good. Read more

Good food, nice environment, friendly owner. I really like the purpose of this restaurant. I hope others can appreciate the... hard work and authenticity that this place has to offer. Even though they prefer you try authentic Chinese food, they do have"American" Chinese food for those who are more hesitant and are fine with how current Chinese food in America taste like. This place is THE BEST for authentic Asian cuisine! Not a single place comes even close in Salisbury. The Xialong Boa is... AMAZING, almost like soup filled dumplings with a vinegar based dipping sauce. The fried pork dumplings are great, and theshredded beef with hot peppers is my favorite. I plan on trying many more dishes including the Cumin Spare Ribs and hot pot. Ifyou have never had authentic Asian food, I would suggest eating in and having your server describe the options. I want to findout if any of their dishes use Szechuan Peppercorns because I always wanted to try a dish with them. Thank you for bringing suchamazing food to the Eastern Shore! Read more

My sister & I ate here yesterday. It was different but good. Ordered the chicken hearts, bacon wrapped asparagus & the beef stew... noodles. Everything tasted good the stew had a nice spice to it but not over powering. Hearts were tender & flavorful. Theasparagus was seasoned well but the bacon had alot of fat on it. The only complaint was we didn't receive refills on our water. Read more
