Delicious, authentic Afghan food. We had the Intimate platter, more than enough for 2 people. We’ve been to the Main St... location before but this State St locale is just as good, maybe even better. An extensive menu including a lot of Plant baseddishes if you’re into that. The meat skewers are super flavoursome and the Chicken kebabs juicy and chunky . Will return Read more

The food was amazing. We loved the appetizers and the lamb shank dish called qabili palau. The cucumber yogurt sauce and the... chutney sauce were really tasty on everything, especially the naan. Read more

The food was actually amazing. The atmosphere is a lot more chill than we were expecting. We dressed up a little bit more than... needed. My only issue with our visit was: the spoons for the sauces were pretty dirty. Read more

Excellent and unique flavors on both dishes. The lamb shank was cooked perfectly till it fell off the bone, served with rice,... cucumber salad and eggplant side. It's a popular dish - Every group of people that night had the lamb shank. Beef dumplings in ayogurt sauce was sprinkled with spices and sauces that makes it taste savory and perky. Read more

We had an amazing experience at Afghan Kitchen. Very vegetarian friendly, and my omnivore husband enjoyed his dish as well. Very... friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend this place, and will likely come again next time I am in the area. Read more

I'm somewhat of a food critic and this was my first experience with Middle Eastern food. I love trying food from different... cultures and this did not disappoint. WOW! The flavors were very well balanced, clearly made with fresh ingredients and love. The owner was one of the best parts. I was lucky enough to be the only one their so he was able to give outstanding service. Iwould imagine this same service and welcoming atmosphere would be the same when it is packed full. You absolutely must try. Read more

Everything we had was a must order! The dumplings were incredible - so mild but so flavorful. We also ordered the roasted lamb... shank which was fall-off-the-bone tender - again SO much flavor AND this way we also got to try the eggplant. The eggplant waslike everything else - outstanding! I would order a whole dish of just that as well. My fiancé got the lamb kabob and it wasso juicy and perfectly spiced. Everything was mild but so flavorful - please open a location in Austin,TX! Absolutelyfantastic and we’ll be back the next time we visit SLC! Read more

This was my first time with Afghan food. It is quite unique from anything in Indian and middle eastern cuisines. Flavors are... less overwhelming and more finely balanced than Indian, for example. Excellent texture and flavor in the lamb. The raisins arean excellent flavor in the qibili rice. The rose ice cream is a delicate and beautiful flavor, a fresh experience to get awayfrom typical sugar bomb desserts. I highly recommend trying this place for the surprisingly new and enjoyable flavors. Plus, itfeels great to see the faces of the people you're supporting, and they do an excellent job. Read more
