It was 8:40 and we asked if they were still seating. They said yes and welcomed us in. Service was excellent. The food is to die... for! Authentic and huge portions! We couldn't eat even half of our food so plenty of leftovers! Thank you for being amazing! Read more

Less expensive than most Chinese restaurants in other places but quite delicious! My favorite is the bean actually. I would... recommend at least medium spicy for the grilled fish since mild is too subtle. Read more

very authentic northen Chinese food. I've eaten at a lot of chinese restaurants and "Chinese Taste" is by far my favourite as it... hits the spot! Our server was great, she was friendly and attentive! Food came in very fast and all arrived nearly at the sametime (how Chinese food should be) except for the xiao long bao but typically that takes time to steam so we weren't bothered bythat. 5* and highly reccommend everyone to go to Chinese Taste if they're in Salt Lake City! Some of the best Chinese and Asian food I’ve had yet in Utah. Located in Chinatown, this restaurant has a large menu catering... to all tastes. They have traditional northern Chinese fare along with Americanized options. The prices are fair. We visited fora late lunch and it was fairly empty. There is plenty of space in the restaurant and it’s appointed traditionally. Thelocation is conveniently close to the Asian markets nearby. Our waitress was lovely, truly one of the kindest waitstaff I’vehad in years. Our food came out quickly, but our mains came out before our appetizers. We had pork and chive dumplings, siumai, and Shanghai dumplings as apps. The Shanghai dumplings were the best, they were seasoned perfectly and juicy. Chivedumplings often have too much of a tang from the chives but these were just right. Our mains were mostly good. The chicken wasgood (it’s served cold, following tradition). The braised beef noodle was disappointing. It was not as pictured on the menuand just seemed like ramen. It was fine but not spicy or flavorful enough. The wontons in chili oil were excellent. Update:ordered takeout. Shanghai dumplings and rice noodles. Both were great! Read more

Ordered chicken potstickers, steamed buns with BBQ pork, Shanghai dumplings, and chicken lo mein. It was okay, but only the lo... mein actually tasted fresh. So I'll start there. The chicken lo mein was delicious, slightly sweet with classic flavors andthin cut chicken which tasted independently flavored and cooked. Worked very well and started our meal off in a good place. But lo mein, to me, is not a star dish. It's not a reason why I would travel to a sit down restaurant, and so it can not carrythis review up from just being okay. The pot stickers were fried crispy on the outside and soft and tasteless on the inside. The provided dipping sauce came out in a to-go style lidded plastic container, and tasted like soy sauce with water. Theweren't offensive, but not good either. Definitely the low point. So one hit, one miss, but next up was the reason we came. The Shanghai dumpling, or soup dumplings. This was such a missed opportunity, because the ones that were in tact were good! But of the 8 that come with an order, only 3 actually still had soup in them. The rest were cracked on the bottom and let allof that deliciousness out, completely defeating the purpose of ordering these dumplings. This leads me to believe that thisfood is frozen well in advance and thawed in the steamer. That's not the end of the world usually, but in this case it damagedthe food too much. The BBQ buns tasted pretty good, but did not contain enough BBQ pork for my taste and didn't have the lightairiness that these buns should have coming out of the steamer. That said, they tasted good enough, and as hard to find as thistype of bun can be, I'd have them again. So plusses and minuses takes me to an... Eh. Read more

Came here for takeout. Really slow service as the front desk only has one person and she is in charge of the dine-in service as... well. Ordered food from GrubHub. Potato with green chili and eggplant - good and authentic Green chili with tofu skin - tasty. It's not on their menu but they do offer it Dry pot with shrimp - sadly, they gave the wrong dish!! It looks like dry potribs/chicken. We don't know what it is so we threw it away Read more
