We have been eating at On Q for years. Food is always top notch and in my opinion, the best Bar-B-Q in Florida. We drive an hour... to get there and we go on special occasions. However, this is not a fast food restaurant (thank God) and if you are looking forthat, go somewhere else. Because of there food being so good, at times there are a lot of customers and too few waitresses tohandle the rush, it ebbs and flows and I understand that is how it is. If they have too many waitresses and a slow time, thenthe waitresses are not making money. I find and believe the waitresses are doing the best they can. Yes, if you go late, theyare going to be out of somethings, just like Sonny?s and other places. The owner is an awesome person and has always had time totalk and listen when we did have a question. I don?t understand the bad reviews. But I see this in any reviews I read onanything. One person says whatever it is, is the greatest thing since sliced bread and the next says it is the worst whatever itis, is the worst thing ever. While no business is perfect, I think some people just enjoy running products or businesses down. Ihave written a couple of bad reviews (now if you want bad Barbecue try those two places) In years of eating at On Q, we may havehad a couple of average meals, all of the others would be 5 Stars, six if I could. My only complaint is the small tea glassesand extremely small to go cups. I do wish they had tea glasses and to go cups the size of Sonny?s. Read more
The ribs were good, but that's where it ends. The ramp for handicap is so rickety I would caution using it. The inside is dirty,... walls need painting and it's super cramped inside. Our beans and potato salad were served in tiny Styrofoam cups. If you don'tmind the condition then it's up to you. But our desserts were less than good. I ordered the lemon cream and it was so dry Ididn't eat it. How this place passes inspection I'm not sure. Read more
First time trying On Q. We got takeout...smoked sausage plate and rib plate. First thing I see when I get this home is a moldy... bun. How can you miss that? Pretty unappetizing. Sausage was equivalent to those prepackaged ones you get at the supermarket.Ribs were obviously sitting for a while. Collard greens were ok. Mac and cheese was good. They were out of a couple things,items on menu they don't make anymore. I ordered around 5:30pm and wondering if this is more of a lunch place since they closeso early (7pm). This is a must stop!!! Everything was delicous! And the sweet tea taste like grandma just made it! Pulled pork and brisket were... both really tender and full of flavor! Recently moved nearby and passed this place once and now I will never pass it again. The ambiance is laid back BBQ joint with... beautiful scenery but the prize is the food. We had the brisket and fried catfish with Mac n cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw.All of it is homemade and let me just say that the food is nothing short of outstanding. My wife has driven past this wonderful little gem many times before our first visit tonight. We figured it was the perfect day... to stop by, and we were definitely impressed. From the appetizer sampler of fried southern delights with their delicious bistrosauce, to the shockingly tasty sweet potato fries...it was all amazing. From the pictures, you can see that we had a sampling ofmany of the offerings. Baby back ribs, chicken, rib tips, greens (Mom said they were fantastic), Mac and cheese, baked beans,and those sneaky sweet potato fries. Everything was well seasoned, came out hot, and there was plenty of it. With a comfortable'at-home' atmosphere and friendly service, this is definitely worth the visit. Read more
