A main staple restaurant in the San Antonio area for many years. While the restaurant is local, it is large than other locally... owned restaurants. I had the beef enchiladas, with rice and beans. Solid old school Tex Mex joint with a wide variety of selections. They can seat large groups easily. Food is priced right for... the quality and quantity served. Friendly courteous staff all around. Great place I haven't been to in 25 years. The fresh flour tortillas are to kill for. Nice friendly staff who couldn't do enough... for. Music is great. Coffee Fantastic. The dinner platter I ordered was almost more than I could eat. Chips and salsa to start.Good sweat tea. I like change but it is really hard to pick another restaurant when this is SO good. TY. Unfortunately, the food here is not as good as it used to be. For an appetizer, we ordered bean and cheese nachos. They were... served room temperature, and the cheese was not fully melted. I had the shredded chicken burrito dinner, which was good, butanother person I was with had the beef fajita tacos, which were barely edible. They were dry and burned. Our waiter was veryapologetic and took the fajitas off of our bill. Service is definitely 10/10, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Read more
Definitely the best QUESO! Pure comfort food!! Overall nice service and friendly staff. They are always making sure you are good... with your food and drinks. For the amount of people in the restaurant, Alamo Cafe did a solid job making sure the bathrooms anddining area was clean. No issues and we will be dining with Alamo Cafe again. Read more
