(5 stars reserved for exemplary service). This restaurant/bar is located inside hotel Valencia. It’s very nice. On the... weekends they have live music (guitar singing etc). The bar is medium size but the staff knowledge is phenomenal!! TheirDorego burger is amazing. The drinks are always on point and the barkeeps are super friendly and know their drinks and brandsextremely well!! Always a pleasure to have a drink and food here. Read more

Pretty much hit the spot for a nice intimate dinner. The atmosphere was lovely, service was fantastic, and food was delicious. I... got the NY strip and my husband ordered the ribeye. Both were cooked to perfection. The steaks came with 5 delicious dippingsauces. It's situated in Hotel Valencia so you can also chill at the lounge area and listen to live music. We'd definitely comeback again. Read more

The food, the interior design, and the service were all exceptional. I had the snapper. It was delicious. I recommend the garden... salad, as it was one of the better ones I've had. The steak tasted great. The Malbec was wonderful. You will absolutely lovethis place. Read more

Outstanding, that is how it was. The food, the service, every nuance of Dorrego's was amazing thanks to our server Antonio. He... greeted us warmly and seated us directly. Before one minute had passed we both had a generous sample of a red Argentinian wine, the name of which currently escapes me. We chose the evening special, 30oz Tomahawk ribeye for two. It was paired with roastedpotatoes, charred broccoli, mushrooms/onions and 4 dipping sauces. It was cooked to perfection with an even char, juicy insideand a hint of smokey flavor. The interior of Derrego's is small, intimate, cozy and relatively quiet. There is an outdoorseating area from which you can see the Riverwalk which is showing off it's Christmas finery right now. The only thing I wouldsuggest is better direction to the restaurant itself when entering the hotel (Valencia) in which it resides from East HoustonStreet. I do not make a habit of handing out 5? reviews but this restaurant on this evening deserved each one of them. Read more

We had such a fantastic time, the food was perfection and so was the service so I did something I rarely ever do, I gave... 5?'s. We had reservations for 6:45p after seeing TSO and got stuck by a train???? One quick call and our table was held for us.We were seated almost immediately by Antonio and he remained at our service the entire evening. He started us off with acomplimentary sample glass of an Argentinian wine. I'm not big on reds but it was quite good. I ordered a Blackberry Bramble &the hubby got the spicy margarita, both of which we give 2 thumbs up.We chose the Tomahawk steak for two which came out pictureperfect. Delicious! It was served with roasted potatoes, lightly fried broccoli, onions, mushrooms and 4 dipping sauces. Fordessert we both had the chocolate crema. Fabulous from start to finish. We left positively stuffed. This was not a cheap mealand we didn't expect it to be. The steak alone was $130. With a generous tip our bill came to $300. If you have the means thendefinitely pit this place on your hit list. It is small, intimate, comfortable and has easy Riverwalk access. We will be back! Read more

Let me start by saying we went for the experience and the "Argentinian" food. Made a reservation for a nice, romantic dinner.... Could have walked in, no need for a reservation. We dressed up thinking it was going to be a nice, upscale restaurant. Nope.Could have just gone in casual and been served. Definitely not impressed with the food. My husband ordered steak and I hadchicken. Steak could have crawled off the plate it was so rare. Asked for medium rare. Chicken wasn't bad BUT the menu was VERYlimited. $150 later you live and you learn. Could have had Landry's or Bigas on the Riverwalk and been thrilled to pay that. Read more

We got the chef’s special which was a 35 oz tomahawk, the house salad, the empanadas, and the provolone skillet to share with... 4 people and it was all incredible. The meat was so flavorful and smoky. Atmosphere was nice, and upon sitting down they servedus samples of the house wine. Read more

Well I was really excited to come here but from the moment we got there, there was no host. Waiting around 15 minutes for... someone to sit us down. Another 15 minutes for someone to actually go and give us water and all that good stuff. They give youcomplimentary wine which was a good touch. When the food came they gave us someone else’s. So we had to wait for our actualfood. When my food came my stake wasn’t how I had ordered it. What actually saved the night was our waiter because he wasphenomenal. He provided with good service.
