I came here for a quick bite, so I sat at the bar and promptly got handed a menu by a waitress behind the bar. I immediately... picked a sushi roll, a Sapporo light, and asked for the check, handed the waitress my card, and thanked her. Another serverbehind her heard me order the beer, opened it, and slammed it down in front of me. Not sure if that was intentional or not. Sothe waitress took my card, went over to the register, ran it (or so I thought), then gave it back to me. After 20 minutes Ireceived my roll, which I believe was forgotten about as I saw the waitress double back to the sushi bar to get it after seeingme without food. I was halfway done with my roll and the waitress asked if I would like another beer, I declined and asked heronce more for the check to close out. I saw her go back to the kitchen and grab another table's food, deliver it, then come backto ask how I was doing. I told her once again that I would like the check. She was not the only employee working, there were atleast 3 other servers that could have assisted her run food or get the bill, but they didn't seem to be doing much. Finallyafter another round of her serving some tables, she printed my check. When she handed it to me I was a bit confused as it didn'tlook like a normal check with a place to sign or tip, as it just had my total on it, so I signed my signature where I could andcircled the total. I leave the restaurant only to have the waitress chasing after me outside saying that I didn't pay. I toldher that I gave her my card and that I signed the bill, and she told me that she never put my card in, even though I gave it toher at the beginning of the meal. Now I see why the check didn't look right. So I went inside, and voila! She went back and ranmy card in a matter of seconds, and came with a normal looking bill. Where was this urgency during my meal when I asked for thecheck three times? What did she even do with my card at the beginning of the meal? Why did Read more

Where to begin; a vacant host podium upon arrival; later to discover management hung out in the back by the service station;... somehow the bartender was tasked to pull double duty during all this. Server barely knew what the menu offered. Also, she wouldgrab soup and soft drinks by the rim when delivered and refilled; you know, like a claw. Unfortunately, her mask also impededour ability to understand any recommendations let alone if our order was correct. Tepinyaki was pitiful, do not order; veggieswere clearly microwave chef delight; sushi, though fresh enough, didn’t hold water when trying it’s weight with chop sticks. Read more

I'm leave this place a 2 star. I have visited the other location off 151. Not sure what the servers have to do in the behind the... scenes but doesn't seem that this company is about service. Look like the servers has to make there own alcohol drink. Sushi ismade waiting for 5 to 10 before the server is able to bring it you. We got the kumori rice, Ramen soup, Alaskan roll, firecracker roll. Food was ok meat seem to be over cooked, sushi was good. Place just need better service Read more

My husband and I were wanting sushi but wanted to try a new spot. Kumori was down the street and did not disappoint. The inside... has a chill and modern design. The menu provided so many options: apps, sushi, bowls, salads, everything! Our server’s namewas Victoria and she was wonderful. She gave us some great recommendations (Fiji roll and rock shrimp roll — YUM!), made sureeverything came out delicious, and that our drinks were always full. I also just have to give kudos to the fact that Kumori usesbiodegradable straws!! Read more

The menu at Kumori has something for everyone, including vegetarians and diners who are not in the mood for sushi. We shared... some tempura veggies for the table and each had our own rolls with rice and noodles to share. The lighting was quite low and itwas a bit loud (several families had children with them) but the experience was overall pleasant. The servers might have beenoverwhelmed as service was a little slow but that allowed us to talk and linger and enjoy the company. Overall, this is a niceplace for dinner and I would recommend them. The service was bad. The food was barely edible. And the cleanliness of the place was abhorrent. My sushi roll was lukewarm,... runny, and did not taste good. The ramen was way over-salted and served with… something- potentially freeze dried, flashfried, and then burnt animal pieces of an unknown origin (it should’ve been chicken, but see pictures). My husband’s sashimiwas slimy, fishy, and still had a few scales. We had to chase down someone to refill our drinks- despite being seated AT thebar. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. One of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had in San Antonio. Save yourtime, your money, and your health and avoid this horrid place at all costs. Read more

Came here on September 19th for dinner. We were not impressed. They did not have chicken or tuna, so that really limited our... food selection. How do you run out of food? Target was right across the parking lot and someone could have went there and boughtsome. The beef was dry and overcooked. The salmon had a decent flavor but it was also overcooked and dry. Everyone got theirfood in a reasonable time, but I didn't get mine until everyone was more than halfway thru eating. The service was ok. We had toask for refills on our drinks. The place also has light issues. The entire place was dimly lit and the lights kept flickering, then get a little brighter then get darker again. It made for a less than pleasant experience. Read more
