I?m sorry but it wasn?t worth it at all. The food is basically something you can get at any other Mexican restaurant. To be seat... took about 15mins and wasn?t even busy just no host at the door. Wait a while for food as well. Waitress never checked on us.Had to flag down another waitress for bill ticket and to go plate. It was just horrible. Idk if they may be short staff. Oremployees rather not work and I only say this because when I arrived waiting to be seated to get someone?s attention. A employeemade eye contact with an continued chatting with another employee. Omg Rene and Tori ROCK !! Great place, food and drinks! These 2 ladies are amazing! From daily dining, company dining and... birthdays they work like a fine tune orchestra. Greeting you by your name, knowing your order and making your drink the minutethey see you walk in are the best qualities this place has. You can't ask for anything else with these two peas in a pod! Theymake quality service look so easy yet its so hard to find! Not here because it comes natural to this wonderful staff here at LaFonda ! Live it and keep up the great work!! ???????? To add Mr Bill going greeting everyone by name and remembering everystory. And the amazing Angelica with her smile, and managers and cooks makes this place just an amazing place you can't stayaway from.. Also introducing their new Pink Flamingo drinks during these hot days are delicious. Very refreshing and thirstquenching...can't just have one! Read more

LOVED THIS PLACE. Best Mexican food I've ever had. La Fonda plate #2 is amazing. Tons of food, immediately thought I'd need a... to-go box, yeah, not so much. Completely smashed. Read more

Horrible Restaurant LA FONDA ALAMO HEIGHTS location. Today I walked in for lunch and it took 3 minutes for someone to greet me... at the front counter. She was your typical generation Z totally distracted enept young person. I looked around and saw a totalof 5 people in the restaurant at lunch time and asked her if they were getting ready to close after lunch thinking that maybethey closed for a few hours before the dinner service began. She said no we don't close until 8 or 9 or 10:00 at night and Isaid which time is it and she replied if we're slow we close early and I said how do people know if you don't keep regularhours? Her unintelligent answer was.... we just change times when we close if we're not busy. She indecisively didn't knowwhere to seat me so I said how about this table. I sat down and realized I was right by a blaring speaker with some funky musicthat was being played and I didn't want to have to listen to that so I moved over a few feet to another table further from thespeaker, still in plain sight and next to the other 5 people in the restaurant. I sat at that table for 11 minutes and was neverbrought silverware, a napkin, water or chips in salsa, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was brought to me and I wasn't acknowledged at all. Isaw at least 4 waitstaff and none of them asked if I had been helped or made any effort to acknowledge me. One woman had thishorrible painted mask on. The mask covered 2/3's of her face and then had a scarf that hung from it with with a skeleton facepainted on it. I finally stood up and said "I'm leaving because nobody has even acknowledged me in 15 minutes!" What anunprofessional and discourteous bunch of idiots. I called the La Fonda on main to talk to an owner or manager and they informedme they have nothing to do with the Alamo Heights location and that they're owned by someone else in Alamo Heights. This kind oftreatment towards customers or lack thereof, explains why there's no people in the restaurant on a Frid Read more

New to San Antonio and still in exploration mode to find restaurants to be our regulars. After visiting a dive on the riverwalk... last week for Taco Tuesday, we moved "inland" and found La Fonda. Location felt odd next to the airport, but it wasn't bad.Clean looking inside with friendly staff. Chips and salsa was literally the bottom of the bag of chips with crumps. Got twotacos (wife chicken, me beef) with beans and rice. Both left a puddle of oil on the plate. Beans and rice were OK. Read more

Very poor quality of food. Service was decent. Prices as expected. We ordered the large fajitas skillet with a combination of... chicken and beef. The bottom of the skillet was extremely greasy. The quality of the food was poor at best. The fajitas weretasteless. The rice and beans were not fresh and neither was the guacamole. This is not the same restaurant as the one on MainStreet as we thought before our disappointing experience. Read more

The chicken enchiladas were really good. The sauce was just right. The rice and beans were good but the salsa and chips could be... better. I would come back for a quick Tex Mex meal..... Read more
