My family and I were looking for a great Puerto Rican restaurant to spend time as a family. The restaurant is very inviting with... the walls decorated like San Juan gives a great photo opportunity. Unfortunately the food was a major disappointment. Lackingseason, and flavor I was very shocked that this was a representation of the island. if I could give 0 stars I would. The day prior to my visit I entered the premises at 7:20 and was told only take out is... available due to closing at 8. I was okay with that and left to come back the next day before 7. As most of the items I wantedweren't available I settled for a dish I wasn't familiar with. The wait was so long that it took 54min to receive my wife's andI food. Which during that time I asked for a refill and our waitress kept walking by not acknowledging us or my refill. I keptpushing the glass to the corner of the table in the direction of her traveling path from the kitchen to the front, in hopes ofher noticing that she forgot about the refill. At approximately 7:43 a couple walked in and was hosted to a seat. I couldn'tbelieve what I seen that I was denied a seat the day prior even way before 7:30 which leads me to leaving this review to warnothers. I was very dissatisfied with this visit. Came for the launch buffet and it was great! It priced at $13 (could not find the price anywhere on the website or anything),... which I thought was well priced. The pernil was the best fish, but the tostones and rice were also great. The deserts were alsostellar! The only disappointment was that there wasn’t mofongo on the buffet, you had to get it on a separate plate. It wasvery well worth it anyways. Read more
The service was okay, but slow. It took over a hour to get our food. When it came out some of our food was not hot. I did notice... we were not the only customers that had been waiting a while because the table behind us was very vocal with their complaints.Also, my friend found a hair in her plate. Heard from a friend about this place. Took the family there for their lunch buffet. $15 per person for the buffet, which was... reasonable. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I tried a little of everythingon the buffet. the rice with shrimp was o.k., the shrimp were large but a touch overcooked so they were rubbery. The blackbeans were a touch too salty for me,, but i don't like a lot of salt in my food, so that is just me. Also tried the rice withclams; same issue with the clams overcooked. Next the grill chicken was bland and a touch on the dry side; same for the porkroast-a touch overcooked and that cause the dryness. Also had the fried Tilapia fish was overcooked too and was rubbery. Therewas a Desert bar that was included and the Coconut Flan was Superb., the regular Flan wasn't bad either, but definitely get theCoconut one. They do have a 10% unadvertised Military discount but you have to ask for the discount to get it. Overall for methe food was O.K., the price was reasonable, the staff were great, but the food was not to the point where I would drive acrosstown to go to again. Read more
