It?s been about a year since we ate at the Rudy?s at Leon Springs. Decided to treat my family to a special meal by getting the... BBQ from here. I want to say that the most impressive thing about the location was their customer service. The customer serviceand wanting to do right for the customer was outstanding. The food was delicious. Brisket was tender and very tasty. The Turkeyhas always need a favorite of my kids, and once again, they loved it. Potato salad and corn were the perfect compliment to themeal. Thank you for a great experience and look forward to my next visit here. Read more

We've been customers for years. Always loved it. But recently, its been off. Last night, for example, the brisket was good, but... the chicken was tough, and the coleslaw tasted like it was starting to spoil. Have you changed your recipes? Besides being hardto chew, the chicken tasted different and the sauce tasted sweeter and less spicy than before. Previous time, even your creamcorn was just blah. We're past the pandemic, and I want Rudy's back to what it was before, with awesome food, and the big saltand pepper containers and toothpicks at the tables. Read more

THE BEST TEXAS BBQ! By far the best, most juicy, the most delicious brisket we have had. Everything has been kept original... including the menu. The staff is great, easy to order, and quick to eat. Read more

We eat at Rudy's a lot. But today we had a bad experience. I ordered over $100 just in meat alone. Everyone hated the brisket. ... It seems to be old brisket. People aren't even able to chew it. We have never had this issue with Rudy's. But we were verydisappointed with the service and the food. We called and pre-ordered our food ahead of time because we needed to be on time toprior arrangements. But we get there in a timely manner and they don't even have our order prepared. So now we have to wait forthem to prepare our order and are late to our appointment. The meat was not eatable. This was unacceptable for the price andservice should have been better. Standards from the original Rudy's should matter. But today those standards didn't matter. Good luck on your next visit. Read more

Visiting San Antonio on a work trip, came to the original Rudy?s to check it out. The staff working during dinner time was super... friendly and welcoming, and that made my overall experience enjoyable. The military discount is also highly appreciated. At therecommendation of the clerk behind the counter, I got 1/3 pound of brisket, two pork ribs (3/4 lb or so), and a side of potatosalad. $25+ of food. Unfortunately the ribs and brisket were both severely undercooked or rushed. The brisket was quite toughand chewy, so much so that it was challenging to cut with a plastic knife. I bit into the brisket and had to tear it with myhands, almost like eating beef jerky. Same story with the ribs. I?d say if the smoker was at 225, the brisket needed another 2-3hours. The ribs probably were shy about an hour or so. Because of the tough underdone meat the seasoning rub also didn?t comethrough properly, so I had to use a lot of sauce. Fortunately the sauce was tasty, as all Rudy?s sauces typically are. Thehistory of this place is kinda neat, and the staff were amazing. This is not a knock on the employees we encountered, who wereall friendly folks. But the BBQ itself needed work, so there?s room for improvement there. Read more

It was a good experience especially for my guest experiencing the Texas BBQ for the first time. We kinda had a little bit of... everything! Although I must say, 1/2 of the brisket was tender and the other half was dry! The sauce was on point. Turkey juicyand tender, pork ribs a bit on the dry side but the sauce does the trick! Workers always kind and helpful. Did you know thatLeon Springs BBQ is the first born of all the Rudy's..... I guess I will go back soon for the whole story. Read more
