We really do love the food here, always delicious hot and fresh. I'd definitely give 5 stars but the past few times service has... not been on point. We have visited different times and days of the week too. The servers just seem to disappear. While weunderstand that staffing may be less we do give extra time and are patient patrons. It had been much too long since I had visited Blanco Cafe. I was in San Antonio for a long weekend and decided it was time for a... visit. While growing up in San Antonio, going to The Blanco Cafe on Blanco road was a frequent treat. It was always the samelunch, excellent creamy cheese enchiladas with rice & refried beans and freshly-made flour tortillas. This time I was stayingclose to the Fredericksburg road location. I decided to go a little after the busy lunch time crowd on a Friday. I arrived atjust after 1 pm and there was a line of 10 people or so. There was a handwritten sign asking customers to be patient and they,like so many restaurants, were very short staffed. I only had to wait about 10 minutes, but I knew it would be worth it! As soonas the waitress came by, I ordered an iced tea and the wonderful enchilada plate with rice & refried beans. The lunch came with2 fluffy homemade flour tortillas. Despite the fact the restaurant was fairly full & doing a brisk takeout business, myenchilada plate arrived in a relatively short time. As always, the enchiladas were just as I remembered and were excellent. Ifound myself wiping up the last on the enchilada sauce with the flour tortilla! I had the carne guisada plate, did not feel like eating rice so got extra beans. The tortillas were fantastic. My friend was... super hungry so he had the enchilada's plate, plus a side plate of a crispy taco and a chalupa. We had a great meal. Read more

Very busy, but I didn't have to wait long to get my food . The waitresses did a great job on keeping up with everyone and... never made me ask for a refill on my coffee or anything else. The enchilada plate #3 was delicious and All the sides were goodas well. I will definitely be back by when I am in the area. Read more
I just went in for a cup of coffee. While there I observed the staff and the handling of customers. The restaurant was very... busy but the staff was extremely attentive and professional in all manners of speaking. People were seated immediately when atable became available. Like I stated in the beginning I was just there for a cup of coffee. But, even as busy as this placewas the waitress ensured my cup of filled when I needed more. Great Job to the Owner and Staff!
