First timer here. The food was good. I had the brisket, baby back ribs, and some cream corn which was outstanding.

A wonderful little BBQ joint attached to a gas station located at an easy on/off location in San Antonio. We chose Rudy's in... part because of the reviews but also it's close proximity to our lodging. A very busy place but they have it operating in avery efficient assembly line manner. Since this was our first time here I asked a few locals for recommendations. The generalconsensus was either the baby back ribs or the brisket, although we also saw many folks ordering chicken also. We opted for theribs and I must say, if you are a fan of dry rub, meaty, fall-off the bone ribs then this is the place you need to be. Anoutdoor/indoor picnic table style of dining with each table topped with Rudy's BBQ sauce and plenty of napkins made for a ratherfun experience. We also opted for sides of coleslaw and peach cobbler, both of which were excellent. (We did wait to eat thecobbler later after we heated it up - it was excellent warmed). The best review I can give Rudy's is that I would not hesitateto eat here on a regular basis. The next time I'm in town I will order the ribs again. Probably the brisket too...and mostlikely the chicken....the turkey looked darn good... Read more

We tried the brisket, babyback ribs & chicken with cream of corn, beans and potato salad! Every single bite was amazing.... Everyone who helped take the order, prepare the food and check us out were super friendly & wonderful people. My son Eli wantedto go here after graduating BMT @Lackland AFB. He said he'll continue to eat here while in Tech school. Tbh I'm a lil jelly thatI won't be there lol. Read more

We had an excellent time at Rudy?s! I enjoy a good BBQ place and Rudy?s did not disappoint! We stopped in for dinner after a... long day at the water park. We got a family of four meal and enjoyed it! We didn?t realize that the meal came with drinks, sothat was a nice surprise addition! I loved the bbq sauce! It had a nice sweet, spicy flavor that goes well with the smokedmeats. My daughters thought the sauce was too spicy though. The beans were lacking I felt. They were very soupy, and didn?t havethe flavor that I was hoping for. The peach cobbler was fantastic though and I really loved it! The ambiance of the restaurantis fun. You sit at picnic tables that you?re sharing with everyone. The staff was very friendly and fun to be around. I?d beback for more, for sure! Read more

Been eating at this Rudy's for over ten years and never had one bad experience. Attention tourists: you stand in line to get... your food and then seat yourself and clean up after yourself. Lately the food has been perfect. We always get it to-go so thatwe can add a veggie to the meal at home. I die for Rudy's leftovers - literally the best leftovers ever. There's outdoor andindoor seating. There's limited parking in front of the restaurant near the gas pumps, but we always park in the back. Any timewe have a question, the employees are great about helping us. I personally love the cream corn, potato salad, brisket, andchopped. My husband loves the turkey and chopped. It's a rare instance when we get dry meat. The majority of the time, the foodis moist (in a good way) and tastes amazing. There's a trough of beer in ice at the counter where you order. We avoid busytimes/days because this location can get nuts. Rudy's is a San Antonio staple, and we always bring visitors to taste the bestbbq in the city. I never use the bbq sauce but I've heard it's good. Read more

Great food, different and cool atmosphere. It is a gas station. People are so nice, food was good, and the cream corn is to die... for. We have been 2x times since the first visit to buy the cream corn. Read more

Let me first start by saying we love Rudy's BBQ, but will pause on their food for a while. Last week ordered ahead and they were... way behind on brisket. After being told it would be another 45 minutes decided to ask for a refund (told issue with thesmoker?). Decided to give another try. Went at 2 pm on Sunday. Told not selling moist because they were not happy with theresults (supply chain issue they said). I get it. May not be able to obtain the same (fresher?) product from normal supplier somay have had to engage another supplier that has less quality? Had to settle for the lean and was real dry. BBQ sauce could notsave it. The corn in the cream of corn was severely dehydrated. Couldn't even be masked. I understand the current environment, but customers need to understand the quality of brisket they will get right now at $22.50 / lb and almost $13 for a quart ofuneatable cream corn. They did politly provide refund for the brisket and corn. Read more

Customer service needs to be improved while ordering the over need to yell and then repeat myself multiple times including... dealing with a sour faced meat cutter when trying to order my meats was definitely an unpleasant ordering experience. Like whenis asking to get 3 sausage links cut a issue? Well I was put in that position with the meat cutter employee. Like everyone elsein line I am simply just trying to place my order to enjoy with my family. As this is the original I was a little disappointedin the meat quality this time. Our brisket was very tough and dry, The sausage was delicious as normal, the ribs were simple butenjoyable definitely ate through the heavy pepper seasoning. Cream corn is a famous side which was as always delicious. Overalldefinitely some room for improvement. Read more
