First, I would like to say that the lady who took our order was very helpful and sweet, buuuuut I was very disappointed in the... food. It was Luke warm and the amount and quality of food was subpar. My spouse and I ordered brisket and it seemed as if thegave me the tail end, so to speak, of what they chopped for her. It was quite fatty and again, Luke warm. The food was cold and the side portions were really small. Wish we had bigger side portions n the meat was atleast warm. The... service was great. The cashier explained the menu to us and the different choices we had. That helped alot being first timethere. Read more
I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. It was about 3/10 on a scale of 10. I?ve been to lots of BBQ places and felt like it?s a... pretty hard thing to mess up. The amount of bbq sauce mixed was almost making me gag. Normally I?m scraping the meat that fallsout and eating it. This was the opposite. Bland food and really not what I was expecting since its rated at almost 5 stars. Beans are alright, mac n cheese was ok but the... ribs I ordered, or the brisket I got was dry and flavorless. Bbq doesnt need a whole jar of sauce to make it taste good, but ohwell. Read more
I know people can be snobs about bbq. This place is consistent, clean and friendly. It?s your standard bbq menu. This was my... second visit, I got the two meat plate with ribs and brisket, creamed corn and potato salad, banana pudding for dessert. Ribsare delicious. Brisket this time was dry, which was fine though with bbq sauce. I went fairly early, so probably had someolder stuff, no biggy I know the drill. Creamed corn was rich and thicccccc. Tater salad was standard, but good. Bananapudding was had later in the day as I was too full. I felt like a small schoolgirl, dancing in the sunflowers as I devoured itlike the T. Rex eating that guy off of the toilet in the original Jurassic park. Will go here again. I am excited to try theSausage. So I was craving bbq seen this place was on my way home and decided to give it a try. Didn't have high hopes As so many... restaurants here in San Antonio have let me down. Did walking up to the restaurant there was no smell of bbq in the air. Once Iwalked in there was a faint smell One table had 4 people ans another table has 2 people. And There were A Couple of peoplewaiting on to go orders so I ordered my food I absolutely hate the tip question at the end I decided not to tip it was my firsttime trying this place out of if itwas good I'd be back and be glad to leave a tip. Ordered the 2 meat plate chopped brisket andSausage a sy disease were pinto beans and potatoe salad. On the way home there was no smell of the bbq radiating its way into mycar. Once inside I sat down to enjoy my meal. First bite was the chopped Brisket that tasted like Salty Charred Meat, thank ontothe sausage which was just kielbasa sausage it was chewy definitely not impressed at all!.Next the sides the beans were goodneeded more seasoning but not bad. The mayo based potatoe salad was OK I loathe mayo based potatoe salad I grew up on mustardbased.. Anyways ate about half.. You get bread, pickles and onions and Bbq sauce.
