Great building, fantastic service, excellent bar drinks, ok food. The spinach dip was amazing and the Reuben sandwich was top... notch. The fish was decent but the chips were half cooked. 1st, a pub, Irish or not, wouldn?t be my 1st choice for dinner. But my wife likes Irish-style food. So the food was really... excellent - Guinness Stew for my wife and Shepherds Pie with Cheese for myself. However, I just don?t enjoy the noisyenvironment and the unclean feeling I get when touching the tables and chairs. They do play some decent modern music and havelive entertainment nightly, which I?m not really in to. Visited SA in May and stopped in for a bite. The bartender was super nice and knowledgeable, he told us about a free laser light... show at a cathedral that we would not have known about any other way. I had the Smoked Salmon appetizer and it was bellypleasing amazing! The building is very unique and has a great atmosphere. Read more
We will definitely be back to Waxy's. A friend was in town to film American Ninja Warrior and wanted to see the Riverwalk. We... were the day after the St. Patrick's day river parade so we were still "in the spirit" and as a bonus the river was stillgreen???? The food was excellent and so was service though they did seem stretched thin and a wee bit tired. We wanted fornothing. I'm sorry to only have gotten a picture of one entree but the guys dug into their plates IMMEDIATELY, haha. They didsay the bangers and mash were spot on though. Read more
Great spot for some good old comfort food and a place to eat along the River. Many items are just $4 which makes it reasonably... priced. Their spiked coffees are excellent too and worth to try. Read more
We tried this place while in town for a early dinner and a few drinks. We were greeted by Julian the bartender who was very... friendly and helpful so we sat at the bar. They had live music and the performer was very good. We ordered the Irish SausageSandwich with Potato and Leek Soup, both were very delicious. Julian knew how to pour a Guinness Ale. We wound up meeting newfriends and sharing stories with each other like a true Irish Pub. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful. Therestaurant and restrooms were very clean. We will return to this place every time we are in the area and we told some friends ofours who also went. Read more
