Best steakhouse in the Bay Area hands down. You will not find a better menu or cut of meat in the whole state. Tylor is an... amazing chef and the staff is always so sweet and knowledgeable. It feels like you're right at home when you come in. Read more

I really wanted to like this place but there were too many misses. Most importantly, the $70 steak, while perfectly medium rare... inside as ordered, was incredibly charred and the burnt flavor was overwhelming. Our server had trouble understand our orderand we had to clarify every sentence 2-3 times with them making random guesses and not seeming to listen or understand. Wewaited at least 20min after finishing our meal to get the check (and a kitchen staff actually noticed us waiting and lookingaround for our server and came to help) The dining room is too bright and so there is no ambiance, instead you feel ondisplay. My risotto was tasty but that doesn't really make up for an expensive but really lacking dining experience. Read more

If you're looking to enjoy A5 Japanese wagyu, I recommend avoiding Taurus and going to Alexander's in Cupertino. Our experience... at Taurus was a waste of money. Maybe this was a bad day for them, but for the price, I'm not willing to try again. The staffwas friendly and hard-working, but the flaws in the food and service really made it an expensive night out that we couldn'tenjoy. The problems included: * The beef was very poorly cooked. Our steaks were cut a quarter inch thin before cooking.Neither side was seared, and was just colored gray. With such a thin steak not cooked with very high heat, by the time theoutside was cooked the inside was overcooked. The interior of our steaks was gray to light pink, even though we all ordered oursteaks medium rare. * The beef was poorly trimmed. Excess fat had not been trimmed off prior to cooking. Much of what was onour plate was just large chunks of fat. Each diner left about 10% of their portion on the plate because it was just chunks offat. * The beef was poorly and inconsistently seasoned. My steak was over-salted, and I'm someone with a heavy hand on salt. Mywife's steak was under-salted, and she's someone who uses much less salt than I. * Our side dishes didn't arrive with oursteak. We were just given our small portions of A5 and that's it. Five minutes later, our first side dish arrived. Five minuteslater, the next. And five minutes later, the third. Very rich beef like this needs side dishes, and we were left with adilemma -- eat the steak on its own, or wait and let them grow cold. * The same problem with serving dishes happened in ourappetizer course. One of the three guest's appetizer came out ten minutes after the other two were served. When her disharrived, the hot component of the dish was cold. Nice people working there, but if you're looking for an A5 experience, goelsewhere. Read more

It’s such a surprise to find this great restaurant! We came there around 9:30PM for night food, and it turned out we made a... wise choice. The chef’s special (Japanese wagyu combo) is soooooooo wonderful, with soft and juicy wagyu in perfectseasonings!! The grilled mushroom and shishito peppers are also very very tasty! I would like to give it 10/10! Highlyrecommend!! Read more

We had a lovely date night here and befriended the amazing sommelier Ian Ranney -- and when we realized that our next date night... was going to be in two weeks on April 1, I asked if they would be doing to create a custom menu for April Fool's Day. Theyobliged and created a hilarious menu with a first course of "cupcakes" (actually Wagyu meatballs with mashed potato) and so on.What fun! Superb service. Delicious food. And one of the most fun sommeliers I've ever met. Read more

Wow. After years of searching for a great steakhouse on the Peninsula, I can finally say I've found something good. I was... skeptical but after reading through Yelp reviews I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. Overall, this place was great. We went during the COVID quarantine, so we sat outside in the middle of Laurel St and ordered off a limited menu. I will sayupfront that the service suffered. I hope this was due to the fact that they had just reopened for seated meals and not alasting issue. We didn't get any walkthrough of the menu / meat types and despite mentioning ahead of time that it was ouranniversary, there was no acknowledgement of the milestone. That said, the food delivered. We ordered a spinalis wagyu, adry-aged NY strip, shishito peppers, and broccolini. I drank rosé and my partner drank Port Charlotte. Each steak was served ona wooden board, which brought a more casual feel to the otherwise fancy meal. The steaks were perfectly cooked. We ordered bothrare - medium rare. The NY strip was good, but it just didn't compare to the buttery, melt-in-your-mouth flavor of the wagyu.Barely needed a knife! The shishitos were standard, though I enjoyed how thick the dipping sauce was on the side, and I gotquite a few spicy ones. The broccolini was unique, served with shallots and ponzu sauce, and it was the kind of dish where Iwanted to just drink the sauce. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by Taurus. I'd definitely return for special occasions andI hope to see service that blows us away next time. Read more
