This place is 2t. less salt away from being really good. Everything was waaay too salty. Which was a bummer. But the menu was... very interesting. The food was prepared well. Portions are borderline too big minus the duck pot pie. The crust was coated insalt and had to remove it. Inside was fine but not shareable. Very small portion for cost. Service was also excellent. They are so clever with complexity of flavor. I am in heaven right now. The staff is so friendly. I have been in a handful of... times, and they treat me with an authentic sense of familiarity, which I so appreciate, being new to San Clemente. Read more

Thought about licking the dish to clean up all the goat cheese fondue, the stuffing underneath the crispy skin of the chicken... dish was amazing, and the burger is the best I've had north of San Diego so far. Super friendly staff and the decor is lovely. Read more

Cute and romantic spot right off of El Camino Real in San Clemente. It wasn’t busy for a Friday night and no reservations... needed. The staff was friendly and helpful. Had a table by the warm fire-pit. There are lights for a cool night time ambiance. The food is a little pricey. Presentation is beautiful and the service is very good. I ordered the Pear Fondue and it came with5 slices of bread and the Fig Salad. The salad had a fancy way they served the cheese and dressing. I would recommend this placefor a special date night. This restaurant knows what it’s doing. The chef is clearly creative and gifted for what he does. All food is locally sourced... and home made, all the way down to the butter and cheese. I had a surf and turf which is a Filet Mignon and half a lobster withall the trimmings in a delicious buttery cream. Their cocktails were excellent and full of flavor. I recommend the truffle frieswith their homemade ketchup and mustard as a side, you won’t regret it. I have to make a huge shout out to our waiter, Chris. He’s clearly a professional and has a profound love for food as well as years of experience in serving. Absolutely cheery, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. He definitely made the night that much more enjoyable. If you decide to spendan evening here (and you really should), make sure you ask for Chris. Read more

Great place. The historic story of this establishment makes for a cozy, ambient environment. Although I did not get a chance to... try the food, sitting by the outside fire pit, having a glass of wine was relaxing. The servers were great and the owner cameout to talk with us. Looking forward to coming back and eating...???????????? Read more
