On our way to San Diego. Saw the 4.5 stars and there was an accident on the FWY so we decided to spend our dinner time in San... Clemente instead of sitting on the fwy. What an awesome little town! Got a parking spot right in front of the restaurant.Arrived right at 4:45 on a Saturday and it was completely empty which was concerning. I guess they just opened because by thetime we left it was completely full. Got a table outside on the patio and it was just starting to cool down and we could feelthe cool marine air flowing into the patio surrounded by grape vines. Great atmosphere. Nice menu choices. Got the Cesar salad.Then the bone in rib eye (aged 45 days) cooked perfectly med rare. Absolutely delicious. The wife got the Brussel sprouts andsaid they were heavenly. Her main was the stroganoff and it’s hand made pasta. Very good. Her 1975 Cabernet (recommended bythe server) was deelish! Topped it off with a choc cheesecake and cappuccino. All great. Deserves its 4.5 stars. Only negativewas the music playing thru the stereo. A strange cover band playing a short list of all tears for fears songs on repeat over andover again. If I was to really nit pick… the rib eye was cooked longer on one side but it was still absolutely delicious. Istill give it 5 stars. Go there, you won’t regret it. We didn’t. Read more
Loved their food and drinks! But oh man, if they actually made an effort to toast both sides of their burger buns, their... Mexicali Burger and other bugers would be really delicious! It’s sad they don’t toast the inside of the buns; it reallylowers the quality of those really nice burgers, and makes it feel like a cheap burger when you bite into it. For the price, Idid not expect them to skip that step. Read more
Of of my favorite places to eat in San Clemente!! The charcuterie board, just fantastic. Pumpkin ravioli unreal and the Ribeye... steak!!! Better than your over priced stake house! Great wine selection also! Had the Post & Beam Cab!! Read more
The Vine was a great restaurant! I would highly recommend for a date night or evening out with friends. Our server was very... attentive, and informative. Our favorite was the watermelon salad, but everything we had was great. The ribeye was huge & aheavy dish. The duck wings were also SO good - unique; perfectly crispy and a little spicy. Wine list was great. Cheesecakewasn’t that great - almost too cold - it was crumbly instead of creamy. But overall a fantastic experience! Read more
I am from out of town and my friend recommended I go to Vine for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious! I got the Chilean... sea bass (highly recommend) and my boyfriend got the chef’s seafood special (rainbow trout). Read more

The food at the Vine is excellent and our meals and entrees this week matched this restaurant's usual high level of excellence. ... The service was somewhat slow and less than the standard is excellence we usually experience here. One minor flub is that thisreservation was made noting that it was a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, neither birthday greetings nor any visiblerecognition were offered. Somewhat disappointing for a 75th birthday celebration! However, the quality of the food made thevisit well worth while. Read more
