I visited Allegro during restaurant week when they had a modified menu. However, I did take a look at their regular menu and... many of the items were the same. For an appetizer, the calamari was good, about what you would expect for a nice Italian place.I got their Chicken Caccitore which was delicious. Someone else in our group ordered their gnocchi and it may have been the bestgnocchi I’ve had in San Diego. For dessert we finished off with the deconstructed cannoli and the limoncello cheesecake. I ordered the tortellini in an cream sauce with mushrooms and ham. I had two cappuccinos which were outstanding! They were the... best part of the meal. I ended with the chocolate mousse cake. The waiter was very entertaining with an accent, and thecappuccino maker was a master. The inside and outside look super romantic and upscale. The staff is very attentive. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. My niece had pasta and I had the Seabass and it was... absolutely delicious. Throughout the whole evening the staff made sure that we had everything that we needed. We had a lovelyevening. I live 35 minutes away from this restaurant so I cannot come as often as I like; however, whenever I’m in the area Iwill make sure that I come back. One suggestion regarding parking, I would definitely Uber or Lyft as parking can be verytricky. Read more
I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Allegro. The service was impeccable and so friendly, and the food was amazing and... came out very fast. My waiter Massimo and every other staff member I interacted with were absolutely lovely, attentive andaccommodating. The wine recommendations were on point, too, and they offered a taste of the wine before I committed. They evensurprised me with a free dessert!! I'll definitely be back. The decor was very beautiful especially the lemon trees on the ceiling. It was very busy and the music was pretty loud inside... but not loo loud that you still have a conversation without yelling. They had lots of outdoor seating even for larger groups. Loved the vibe and ambiance. Service was kinda slow through although they were quick to fill up our water glasses but theentrees took about an hour to come out. We also ordered truffle fries which came out after about 20 minutes but were worth thewait. The bucatini carbonara was very delicious, pasta cooked perfectly although I felt that the pork belly seemed a bit out ofplace. The Ravioli all’ Aragosta (lobster ravioli) was also pretty delicious. Fettuccini scoglio was a spicier pasta with agood amount of seafood, the pasta was a bit overcooked but the sauce tasted really good. If you want the pasta in the cheesewheel they only serve it Sunday through Thursday. I saw this on the menu so wasn’t surprised since we ate there on a Saturdaynight. Read more

Allegro is a very comfortable Italian restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Evelyn is an exceptional hostess. She was... friendly, engaging, and enthusaistic about Allegro. The kitchen staff appear to work diligently to prepare and present wonderfuldishes. Many of the wait staff speak Italian. Service varied widely among the entire team. Managers were selectively attentiveto patrons. Meals were fresh and simple. Portions were generous. We enjoy appetizers, salads, bisque, entrees anddessert. Unfortunately, several items that we wanted to order were unavailable. We witnessed excellent to average service fromtable to table. Tables were close inside the restaurant.
