How disappointing I really wanted to support this establishment. I am from that region Greece was the neighboring country to... me so I had a lot of exposure to the culture and food. My husband and I skipped lunch so we were really hungry at dinner time sowe ate but I was shocked at how soggy and salty and overcook and mushy our food was. The waiter brought our wine and foodchecked on us at the end of the dinner and brought our check.i It was our first time there. We did notice that the staff and thehostess did talk and sit and chat with other patrons so I guess you have to be a regular. Needless to say we won’t be goingback. Read more

I used to eat at Athens Market Taverna, though we always referred to it "Mary's" when my office was across the street. We took a... walk around gaslamp to see all the changes since we moved away. Much has changed, however "Mary's" is the same friendly placewith excellent food just as I remember. Gustavo seated is at prime window table and we enjoyed our meal and people watching!Thank you Mary and the staff!! Read more

Authentic Greek food that would have appeased Epicurus. Two steps s better than any Greek I have found in San Diego. We came for... the Saganaki and it did not disappoint. Delicious soups and Greek wine, as were the main courses. The sweet custard for dessertwas as good as my favorite place in Athens. Perfect for both a casual meal or a nice evening out. Read more

Great food! Beautifully tender octopus, delicate moussaka, nicely flavored pork souvlaki, and exceptional dolmanthes. We showed... up on a live music night with no reservation. Nevertheless the friendly staff found us a table. The owner came by to make surewe were ok. So much hospitality! And did I mention the delicious food? Read more

Relaxed, welcome, simple atmosphere by coming home to family. Sat at the bar for a quick dinner while on a work trip. Looked for... something healthy and enjoyed the lentil soup. The Horitaki Village salad was delightfully generous in portion and quitehealthy, wonderful fresh vegetables. Unfortunately could not resist dipping the warm bread into the herbs and oil. :-) And theGreek yogurt dessert was unique. Would love to come back Read more
