Within walking distance of the Hilton (where I was staying), 100% the place to go to grab a cold local pint and an excellent... pizza. I split a "So Meaty" small with my wife, and that was perfect. Our server was very nice and attentive. The dining room isindustrial-hip. The baseball game was on the big screens. In the shadow of Petco. This place gets my highest recommendation. Read more
Second visit just wanted to make sure the pizza was as good as the first visit before leaving a review. The pizza was well worth... the trip to downtown again this time I went on a Monday super mellow it was nice to get a table a pitcher and play pool with outwaiting. FYI happy hour starts at 3pm we got there to early. The bartender was friendly and got our beer super fast so A+service. Read more
Basic is a good description. Nothing impressive about the pizza here. The location is good with a nice setting to hang out, eat,... and drink in the Gas Light district. The pizza was thin crust and a bit soggy half way down each slice. The sauce is a little onthe sweet side and way too much applied. 25% of my pie had no cheese (see picture #1) With 2,000 plus reviews, I expectedsomething better. I ordered my pie to go and may have had a slightly different opinion if I stayed. The service was great. Thewoman at the to go counter was amazing. I won't be back. Read more
You want a PIZZA PARTY!! This is a great place for that. ~Super high energy music, sports TV, and awesome waitstaff! And the... pizza is DELICIOUS. Very light and fresh tasting, with that brick oven slightly smoky crust! The salads are substantial andsuper fresh!! We scarfed our salads down so fast, I did not grab a screen shot! We ordered a small pizza for three of us, andwith salad so huge, it was fine! If you are going for the Pizza, and you are hungry, definitely order a large! I will also sayinside seating is not super conducive to intimate conversation because it is a cavernous dining area and the music in therestaurant is set quite loud, and with a lot of happy people laughing and having a great time one will resort to shouting!, butthey do have ample outdoor seating to enjoy if you want a quieter atmosphere! Ordered the small basic red pie with pepperoni to go. The pizza was fantastic. The crust has a little bit of char, but was still... light and chewy. The cheese had a great pull to it and was just the right amount. I definitely will be going back! Their beerlist is good with local offerings, it's an electric atmosphere. Read more
This pizza was amazing, very nice char taste like wood fired style crispy crust, great toppings and sauce. Pizza was a small and... it was huge, I saw the large pizzas and they were massive 2-4 people for large, 1-2 for small. Great selection of craft beerstoo. Service was really good, pizza took a little while to come but it was very busy (it was a padres game night) so that was tobe expected, was definitely worth the wait! A must try place in San Diego. I LOVE this place!!! I found it participating in art shows with Thumbprint Galleries(pictured 2 of my pieces I showed last... time!) THE PIZZA!!! I like to get the white chicken pizza, the J Street, with Mashed potatoes added!! Thats right MASHEDPOTATOES. So bomb, The So Meaty is good too. All the pizzas are thin, but crispy, and HUGE!!! My favorite pizza place for over a decade now! Food here makes me so happy! Love the red sauce and their salads are delicious... too.Great place to start a night downtown and also a great place to end it as well. The staff here, are some over my favoritepeople in the industry. Family friendly. Good for groups, happy hours are better than before, and a free pool table for thosewho want to run it!
