I went with a friend for lunch a couple days ago. I had the regular sandwich with waffle fries and a soda. The service was fast,... ordering was fun and new, and the food? The food was amazing! The chicken was soft and with the perfect amount of exteriorcrunch! The sauce was a bit too tangy but delicious! The waffle fries were a perfect combination of waffle cut and curly frytaste! First time is a very nice idea..it looks like a conglomerate of restaurants in one huge warehouse, just walk in and there are... several i-pads with all the restaurant choices they have..pretty cool idea and takes about 15 minutes to get your food and youwill be notify via text when food is ready. So my son ordered a fried chicken sandwich and he insisted for me to get same andto be honest it was super good, very flavorful and the kind of food that leaves you satisfied and 100% guilt free. I had the spicy Bird sandwich and my son had the waffle Bird. They were both okay. The spicy sandwich chicken was tender with... just a little a bit of kick. I prefer it to be spicer but the flavor was decent. They should add the level of spiciness as anoption on the menu and perhaps a better deal on the combos. There is a ton of competition here in SD with spicy chickensandwiches and I have my go to spots! Bird and bun is okay but better than your typical fast food joint. Read more
They opened the SD location recently and I decided to take advantage of the 20% off online delivery special to give this place... I've never heard of a try. Overall my experience was amazing. I honestly prefer this over other chicken based places and you cansee the difference in flavor that Bird n Bun has over other places like Popeyes and Chic-fil-a. It was the grand opening of Bird-N-Bun today in Barrio Logan, I took advantage of their $5 sandwich and $5 spicy strips grand... opening deal plus 20% off online orders (if you ordered online/app you get 20% off your total) I got there a couple min beforemy pick up time and waited like 5 min to get my food (You get a text saying to wait in your car until you get a text saying yourfood is ready so you can enter the building to pick it up) the parking situation was a nightmare for cars but not for me ???????? (The "parking lot" was turned into Covid outdoor dining) There were easily over half a dozen cars pulled up on the streetwith their hazards on waiting (they were that packed) I got a fried chicken sandwich with waffle fries and 3 huuuge spicychicken strips with spicy sauce ???? everything was delicious! The chicken sandwich has a delicious flavor to it, every bite wascrunchy and juicy. The huuuge strips were juicy and tossed in a spicy powder that gives it a kick alongside the spicy sauce, itwas the perfect blend of spicy and tastee. I got the chicken biscuit sandwich and the biscuit was sweeter than cake. I won?t sugarcoat it (no pun intended) the flavors of... this sandwich were just off. Not to say other items on the menu aren?t good, the biscuit just wasn?t for me. The waffle friessmacked though! Read more
