We love to visit Cafe 222 every time we visit SD. The gravy is some of, if not the best I've had. The staff are always friendly... and the food is amazing. We can't wait for our next visit. Read more

If you?re within a 10 mile radius of this area- you must visit. Fantastic food and friendly service. Support this local small... business. And if Bobby Flay thinks breakfast here is the Best Thing I?ve Eaten - I think you?ll agree, too. Read more

First morning breakfast for the stay in San Diego at The Cafe 222 well the outside on the curb tables reminded me of my time in... Italy. The coffee was very nice. Now the waffle was a nice waffle the scrambled eggs was ok The sausage was no good cheap blandand probably frozen microwaved out of a box. The syrup was cheap not real maple syrup I?m accustomed to back in the Midwest. Butthe view and relaxing feel was amazing to sit there and just forget about all the hustle and bustle back home. That alone isworth a star on the score. The people are kind and very friendly but that should be a given so I will probably revisit this cutelittle place. Read more

Best breakfast downtown. Super friendly and considerate service. Portions are large enough to split. Eggs over medium were... perfectly executed with whites cooked through and yolks slightly runny and golden. The pancakes were large and chewy anddelicious enough that you don't really need syrup. Loved that they had turkey bacon, which has a smoother smokey flavor thanpork based bacon. Read more

We were looking for a breakfast place to eat and walk around downtown San Diego and found this right on our walking route. It is... right of the main Gas Lamps District downtown and easy walk to Seaport Village & Convention Center. Waiting time was 30 minutesand we had a nice table outside. I ordered the Hash & Eggs with sourdough toast. The Hash was really good and had nice sizedpieces of potatoes cooked into the hash. The Waffle was way under cooked cold and doughy inside. Nothing special here so wewon't order that again. Food is pricey for the amount you get still very convenient to the Downtown harbour and the San Diegosites. Read more

Nice atmosphere and fast service with a pretty good sized menu with varied options. Coffee drink was good and well prepared and... the breakfast burrito was huge and bursting with flavor. The super biscuits and gravy had good flavor, but the biscuits werehard as a rock even under the gravy and I struggled to cut them or chew them. The peanut butter and banana stuffed French toastwas tasty, but not presented particularly well, and didn?t quite live up to all the hype on the menu. Overall a good breakfastspot, and hopefully just an off day on the few misses. Read more
