We waited an hour for our pizza to arrive. The pizza was mostly bread very light sauce and barely enough cheese to cover it. My... kids wouldn’t eat it and I don’t blame them. The chicken parmigiana was microwaved and the sauce wasn’t good. Our serverwas really cool and explained the situation to us but it seemed like the establishment was ok with the usuals getting their foodin a prompt manner while the out of town looking family had to wait an hour 15 to eat. Unfortunately the Sunday bartender at this restaurant needs training dealing with a busy bar & lounge in the restaurant. The ... bartender was very grumpy! The host Josh was great and knew what he was doing. The Sunday bartender needs to work on her skillsdealing with the public. Other than that, our meals came out good thanks to the cooks and Josh for serving our table! I wouldnot go back on a Sunday for lunch at this restaurant if that female bartender is working, I would turn around and leave! Read more
Ordered a meat lover's pizza. Get to the location and that's not on the ticket. Goes and inquires about pizza. It has mushrooms,... sausage, and pepperoni. That's what I ordered on my last trip there a couple of weeks ago. They had already taken payment. I'mnot in the business of making complaints and getting food remade there at time of complaint. "Mishaps" may take place. Decided Iwould leave a review instead and maybe there will be better service for future customers. Also as you see in the pics there wascheese missing from the side, how did that happen? Just disappointed overall. Will have to attend their other locations in thefuture should I choose to indulge. Tonight is my husband’s pizza night. He’s half Italian, so pizza is something he always wants. Gladly I like pizza too.... Filippi’s is a nice place really close to our home. We love their pizzas, they are neither the NY thin style nor the Chicagodeep dish style, but it’s quite nice to balance the dough and toppings in their own way. We enjoyed it. Also their side dishesare small which are is nice too since a lot of Italian family style restaurants only serve huge portions. It’s a place for usto eat regularly~~~ plus their servers are super friendly and nice. Read more
Excellent service and staff. We only came here for tiramisu and fries (but ended up getting onion rings instead) as that was our... first date meal with my wife :) onion rings were fresh, tiramisu was tasty and its portion was big. We opted to sit outsidesince the inside was very dark (Google the meaning of Grotto). Read more
Service was a bit slow, but overall...the food was amazing. Everything is fresh. Nothing is microwaved. Will definitely be... regulars here going forward. The atmosphere was calm and laid back. The music wasn't too loud at all. Was easily able to have aquiet conversation with the wife. Lighting is on the dimmer side, but made for a very relaxing experience. Tables are a littledated, but clean and in outstanding condition. Read more
