We stopped here on a Friday night around 7 pm. There is no parking lot so you have to look for parking in the surrounding... neighborhood. There was a short line when we arrived and it moved quickly. A lot of outdoor and some indoor seating. The outdoorseating doesn't have any heaters so beware on chilly nights. The menu online doesn't match what they have at the restaurant andthere are more things at the restaurant. They have some starters like nachos and cheesey fries. They also have a small vegan andkids menu too. We came for the BBQ, which you buy by mass (quarter pound minimum). We tried the brisket and pork ribs with greenbeans and Peruvian beans as our sides. The food came out quickly and the BBQ was delicious!! The brisket was so juicy and had alot of marbling. The bark on it was really well seasoned. The pork ribs were incredibly tender. The meat literally fell off thebone when you picked it up. Both meats were good but the brisket was my favorite. You can get different BBQ sauces on the sideand some sweet pickles. I loved the pickles! The sides were great as well. I would definitely recommend coming to Grand Ole BBQY Asado if you are looking for amazing BBQ. Read more

I visited in late afternoon for a late lunch early dinner on a chilly Thursday afternoon, so the crowd was sparse - maybe 10... other patrons there, though a few more showed closer to dinner. I was greeted by a very polite young lady who hailed from SouthCarolina. Both she and the gentleman who paged me with my order were very nice. I had the Tri-tip sandwich with mac-n-cheeseand Meemaw's green beans. As shown in the picture, all three portions were very generous - I could have easily split the platehad I not been dining alone on my lunch break. The Tri-tip was very good, especially the two types of barbecue sauce they gaveme. The mac and cheese was also quite good - a nice balance of cheese to pasta. I generally like mine a little creamier, but fora more pasta-centric dish, this was excellent. The beans had a dusting of parmesan cheese on them. I would have liked them to bea bit warmer, especially as they chilled quickly on a cold afternoon. Overall, I was very satisfied and will be pleased toreturn. Read more

Holy smoking meats! Brisket fries smothered in polenta and ribs that will blow you away. The jumbo beef rib was so massive I ate... it for dinner twice. The char and herb rub on it was as smoky and savory as anything I've ever tried in Kansas City, Missouri orTexas. This restaurant puts the San Diego BBQ game on the level with any other city's best! Order at the walk up window, thenwalk to the bar for a beer before grabbing a cozy table on the patio or inside. Read more

Everything was delicious. Brisket on the fatty side, but I don?t mind that. Pulled pork was flavorful and made even better with... their vinegar sauce. Smoked turkey was juicy and surprisingly flavorful. Sides all delivered. Only complaint was that thewebsite didn?t alert to the fact that the lamb is only available Sunday. Read more

(Aug. 2022) Came for lunch after a local recommendation. I was lamenting the lack of good barbecue in town and this did not... disappoint on any front. Walking in reminds me of stopping at a Texas roadside BBQ; the smell of meats slow smoking in outdoorcookers slowly pumping out the delicious vapors. The open barn feel adds to the atmosphere and hidden elements blend the cowboystyle with local tourism and even some hidden Disneyland memorabilia. The team was happy, attentive and very efficient, engaging with every customer and laughing along the way, food came out fast and easy. I ordered the brisket sandwich which wasa slight bit dry naked but divine with coleslaw and lots of their homemade BBQ sauce. Speaking of, I highly recommend theirhouse made sauce, it?s the best I?ve tasted in years and arguably the best I?ve tasted in Southern California. The bread wassoft and fresh and fit the sandwich perfectly. Best callouts: great staff, solid food, amazing culinary and comfortableseating. ?????????? Read more

Just as good as I remember it being from 3 years ago before the long renovation, was well worth the wait! Quick review to... mainly mention something I couldn't find info on anywhere: I don't think they reserve any meats for dinner service. Despite theonline menu that has a separate "dinner" section starting at 6pm, when I went in on a weekday for dinner there was basically noline but I got the last beef rib and a few other items were sold out already. No biggie since I got everything I wanted (alongwith the beef rib, had brisket and St. Louis ribs), but worth noting that you should definitely aim to come as early as possibleif there's specific items you want. Everything was super tender, tad heavy on the smoke, but the sides were even better than Iremembered. Love the beans, "spicy" slaw was new and more peppery than anything but awesome, and fries are the thin crispykind. Wednesday was BYOB, which I was grateful for since prices were a lot higher than before. The only con, but alasinflation. Dole whip was a sweet addition, and looking forward to a dipped cone next time! Read more

It?s back! And the ambience is amazing. Great for families, doggos, and pretty much everyone. Vegan options! Many delicious... sauces! Solid beer and wine list, chosen for their pairing perfection. The brisket will live rent-free in your head. Read more
