My fist time at Javier?s and it was an excellent experience. Delicious food, awesome decor and solid customer service. The... chips and salsa was a great start with a nice spicy hit. I ordered the three piece combo. Beef taco, Chile relleno and beefenchilada. The overall entree was solid and I?d recommend it. The esquite was good but I?ve had better. I prefer my esquitewith the corn pieces a little more cooked/charred. I ordered the tamarindo drink it was good, nice and sour/sweet. The octopusappetizer was excellent and the pieces were very tender for a ceviche. The beef taquitos were also good. My favorite dish wasthe Tres leches and it was one of the best I?ve ever had even though I was super full. I?d definitely come back here again orcheck out some of the Javier?s near the LA area. So, I wanted to love this place. Ambiance and atmosphere were fantastic! Come here if you want that. However the rest was very... mediocre for the price. First, the server we had was kinda rude. The support and food runners were awesome, just not the onewho took our order. He didn?t greet us in a friendly manner, didn?t offer any suggestions, just simply bad service for a placelike this. Secondly the food. Yes I see it?s aimed for upscale, but if you?re going to charge this much for Mexican food, whichyou can find anywhere in San Diego for a fraction of the price, Make it BETTER! No homemade tortillas for a $40 plate? Cmonnow, whoever the chef is should know better? Food didn?t pop, flavors were aimed towards those who don?t have that much Mexicanfood and it was obvious. Potion sizes were good, but I?m not coming back after experiencing what was offered up. Read more

Such an amazing experience! From the hostess that greeted us, to the bartender waiting for our table to our waiter/waitress,... everything was top notch. The atmosphere is incredible, the Mexican food even better and the tasty drinks were a flowing. Iubered and met my friends there but they do have valet if driving and don?t feel like walking far from where you parked. Read more

Very creative and beautiful restaurant. Unique decorations, large wooden fan, plans, candles and fire places, has it's own vibe.... Crowded place and loud. So the place you sit matters very much. If you sit in the middle, then it's loud and you can not hear ortalk with your team properly. Staff is very nice and helpful. Clean and comfortable seating. Large selection of cocktail, andthey are pretty nice. Food, hmmmm. It?s ok. Pretty average. But they have a great selection of food, all types of meat. Myfavorite was cheese cake. Read more

This was my first experience with Javier's. It was very good but certainly not the best. I had the crab enchiladas and they were... on the dry side and not that tasty. The atmosphere is superb even though it's on the loud side if you want conversation withfamily. I will certainly go to Javier's again. Read more

Oh my goodness their food is amazing. I got the skirt steak fajitas and the steak was so tender and delicious! Only minor... complaint is it?s pretty pricey. Definitely would recommend though! Read more

Very trendy decore, good food, friendly staff. Was surprised to see lot of kids there. This is a kids friendly place. Javier's... has a separate veggie / vegan menu. This has 5 items, we ordered all 5. Food was very fresh and tasty. Unlike other restaurants, usage of cheese was very less, allowing us to enjoy taste of other ingredients. Would recommend this place if you are on SanDiego and looking for a good high end Mexican restaurant. Read more

Located inside the University Village Mall, Javier?s is full of great vibes. As soon as you walk through the front door, you can... feel the energy in this restaurant. Both outdoor and in door dining scenes are full of people with buzz. We have to book thisin advanced as we have a large party for dinning on a weekday. People are super nice. Our waitress was full of smile and wasvery enthusiastic in helping on our orders. She was also very attentive on our needs and refilled drinks and chips withoutasking. The food was delicious. Although the foods are a bit on the fusion side but they retained the Mexican cuisine elementsand flavors. I love the combo of skirt steak and chicken. Great flavors with the steak and the chicken was also very tender.Wrapping the meats in a warm tortilla with the beans and pickled veggies was delicious. Our friend?s pork chop, steak andseafood enchiladas were equally fantastic. They all enjoyed the food. I was attracted to the decoration and lighting ambienceinside. The bar area is like a space ship. And the outdoor tropical plants made this restaurant feel like Cancun. I highlyrecommend this place if you wanting some decent Mexican food and trying to impress your friends. Read more
